For all the people who are claiming that they DO microwave them....do you actually WORK in a BK?

I don't need to - I've stood at many a BK counter in the past and watched (with my own two peepers cracking out 20:20 vision) the employees assemble the burger and then pop it in the microwave for a few sconds before wrapping it up and popping it on the nifty burger slide.

Eh? I said in the opening post that I saw the 'chef', without gloves, using a microwave to heat the burger.

Why do you keep going on about the lack of gloves? They wash their hands!

Gloves aren't a guarantee of good hygiene, anyway.

Strangely enough my Daughter WORKS in Bk at the present time and she knows nothing about burgers being microwaved......

Two of us have said on this thread that we worked in BK. and others have eyes...

They do flame grill them on site.. then they're kept warm, then nuked.

They're supposed to wash their hands. Someone in an environment where they are picking up food and giving it to others should be wearing gloves, just in case they 'forget' to get their hands under the tap. Gloves may not be a guarantee but they do give peace of mind.

Not if they're wearing the same gloves for ages... if they're too lazy to wash their hands then they also might be too lazy to be changing gloves every five minutes.

Places like this are pretty strict about hand hygiene.

Exactly...you WORKED (past tense) how can you say beyond shadow of doubt thta things havent changed?

Im not going to argue with you but hopefully some other CURRENT employees will chip in to this thread to clear the matter up.

ps . you do realise that BK is a franchise? What happens in one BK will not necessarily happen in them all ;)

So..it bothers you enough to go onto a forum and pass comment on it.....but not enough to actually stop you eating there ? ;)

She should really open her eyes. The standard procedure in a BK is for the flame grilling to happen, then the patties are kept warm until needed (if necessary and the store isn't busy), the burger is assembled and then microwaved for 15 or so seconds. EVERY BK does this :)

I will pass on this (un) useful piece of info :rotfl:.

How long have you worked in BK for then seeing as how you are so clued up on their "standards"

ps . you have said that EVERY bk heats their burgers...just wondering if you could post a link to where you gained this info from?

This is why I prefer MaccyD's......and the BK burgers LOOK microwaved cos of how the bun goes. MY top tip for anywhere is to order it so something is changed (addition/subtraction) then it's pretty much guaranteed fresh - although it is funny asking for a burger completely plain with no bun and then looking at you funny (Gluten intolerant but I like the occasional cooked quarter pounder patty)

I'm lactose intolerant. Ended up ordering a bacon double cheeseburger with no cheese. I felt like a mook saying that.

I can't, but neither can you claim that what OP says isn't true just because someone you know works there.
