Hello everyone
hugs to gingin and bargain. Sorry to hear of your loss :grouphug: Well done tp those with not-so-little ones starting new jobs
have just finished organising the department christmas do for tomorrow (early i know, but we can get money from the department if it's in term time and the students can come). :xmassmile
We've hired a bar from free, the department is paying for a buffet and people can buy their own drinks. Minimal hassle for me, and people can spend as much as little or as much as they like. I shall try and be good, but the cocktail list looks tempting!
still have no bathroom ceiling  :wall:

Hello Everyone
Feeling very anti-work today. Didn't finish work until 11pm last night after starting at 5.30am. The ref at the footy played LOADS of "injury" time.
It's my best friend's birthday today, so I arrived at work and promtly left again to have a hot chocolate with her, so that was an hour killed.
I've got tomorrow off, which I can't wait for. I'll be so nice not to have to come to this place for three whole days - not working over the weekend for once
Hope everyone's okComping, Clicking & Saving for Change0 -
Hi everyone!
I'll backtrack in a mo and read the thread but hugs to those who need them.
All well here although have only nipped on and off the board these last two days so need to catch up. OS today has consisted of cleaning sink and loo, hoovering throughout and making the beds. Tonight I'm back at work so hope to pop back here if time permits but no OS will get done.
Tomorrow we have the annual Christmas Bazaar. This time last year I was still PTA chairman and pulling out my hair over all the last minute hitches that inevitably occur. This time for the first time ever I just get to turn up like all the other parents. I'm quite looking forward to it! Small person is taking in a weetabix cake as my contribution for the cake stall. For once I've been organised and cooked it in advance so only had to get it out of the freezer.
Sat is my quarterly trip to Lidl to stock up on Chrimbo goodies. Fingers crossed for lots of bargains. Other than that I'm going to have to start the Chrimbo cards which I loathe writing with a passion. I've already smiled sweetly at OH and asked him to wrap the pressies [I can't wrap anything and make it look half decent] my argument being that I've bought all of them and I'm working full time!!
Tonight it's chilli with grated cheddar and tortilla crisps.
Hope you all have a fabby day!

I had a sight test this week and was given the all clear (even read the tinyest line so was dead chuffed) but after trying to read your posts Aril I think I need to go back and get my money back:rotfl: or is it just me:o0

Hi Everyone,
Not had a real chance to read everything to day, so hope everyone is okay. Been and dropped DS off at nursery this morning. Then went into town to meet friend for coffee (not seen her for over a year). Came home to start tea (doing a pork roast), and also decided to do a microwave golden syrup pudding ( which turned out good for a change).
Best go now and resume parental duties and pick DS up.
POwie xxA woman is like a tea bag. You never know how strong she is until she gets into hot water.:D0 -
Hi everyone,
Pink-winged, I can't believe your 12yo needs to shave. Poor ds (20yo) only has bum fluff on most of his beard/moustache area. He has a bit more under his chin but can easily go a week without shaving and still look respectable. He's taken to using a beard trimmer now and probably only shaves when he needs to look ultra smart.
Congrats to tapson and cheerfulnessjr on their jobs. It's a real achievement these days. Even a degree doesn't mean you will walk into a job. Fingers crossed for ds who wants to go into the police when he finishes his criminology degree. He's going to start applying over Christmas if anyone is recruiting (they seem to be concentrating more on Police Community Safety Officers which isn't the same at all).
Got my trip in to Toys r Us last night (got the last Bopit) and on the way home passed an accident, found out this morning that the wife of one of my colleagues was in it, car v motorcycle and the rider had an 8 yo girl on the back.
Also got a phone call from dad to say mum had been taken into hospital at 2.00 am - second time in a week but for her colitis not angina this time. It's one thing after another.
Don't think I'll get a lot of OS done today but must try to do the labels for my Chrimbo card envelopes.
Sue
