Dishes are in dishwasher and will make sausage casserole in slow cooker with mashed p[otatoes for tea.

DH and I will have cauli cheese for lunch as a treat for him.

Must start knitting fluffy scarf!!! (have three to do for Christmas).

If I can talk DH into lift to Tesco I can get a couple of pressies and maybe start on two hampers.

    Big hug to everyone.

Hurrah, I've found an advantage to using my w*** laptop while my own is still poorly! :j :j I have access to my w*** database and can inform Taplady that the NMW for 16-17 year olds is £3.30/hour.

Well done Tapmaster, and don't spend it all at once! :T :T

Been watching the BBC1 documentary on homelessness while I'm ironing. It made me furious and completely sympathetic for the families involved. Having negotiated myself with local authority homelessness units, I know what a:wall: experience it is.

    Morning all

Didn't get chance to post yesterday, was DD1s birthday - 11 years old - where does it go? Made her a choccy cake and did chocolate chips, chocolate shavings and marshmellows on top - she loved it.

Roads are terrible here at the moment because of the strike in France by the ferry workers - we have "operation stack" in place - they turn the motorway into a huge lorry park, so DH's normal 45 mins travel home took him nearly 3 hours last night.....he wasn't amused.

Got my Dad here doing more decorating but he left Mum at home today - shame cos she's useful! She cleaned out all the wardrobes yesterday and ironed everything that looked a little creased (most of it:D ) - she scrubbed and buffed and cleaned until she went home (you'd think my house was a complete pit the way she tuts and sighs at the state of it - but it isn't - really - no honestly - well ok - sometimes it is but the kids are more important!:rotfl: )

OS wise today - BM needs going on in a bit - WM on 3rd load - TD on 2nd load (not cold enough to have the heating on today) and I've just steamcleaned the bathroom and kitchen floors. Got some filing and shredding to do and then I'm going to wrap another lot of pressies.

Hope you all have a great day.

Well done your son Taplady. 23_1_10.gif

Nice to see you Prinny. I'm sure you'll put your new cloths to good use. ;) Well the eggplant lasagne was very nice. I had it with salad & some bread. DH & I enjoyed it. DD poked her nose up at it and made some scrambled eggs for herself. :p I just had another piece of slice 4_13_6.gifI'll loosely call it supper :D to make me feel less guilty.

CM I hope you get your miracle.15_1_51v.gif:D Off to have a bit of a surf and then hit the sack. Has anybody seen PP lately? Hope you are ok.

  • Taplady - So pleased for you and your son. Lovely to start a new year all sorted, too. :D

My son had just had confirmation this morning that he has officially been accepted to work at the college - been on trial for some weeks. He's only 16 too and looks so grown up in his suit & tie with his ID swinging round his neck. Where did our babies of yesteryear go. Only seems moments ago it was Pingu and Micro-machines.

    Welcome, ethansmum. :)

    Welcome, ethansmum!

I was up very early this morning - 8.30!!

Went to town with the recycling and popped into the market to get fabric, but then I remembered just how skanky our market is, so decided to order it online instead

Rest of the day - jobs, ebay, wax + hang mirror (yes, its still not done, but its getting there slowly) etc.

Best get on with it then! :)

    Have fun!
