Still no planning to report :)

I did intend to pop in to school today but 'forgot'! Actually, I did forget as I was too busy dropping my son off at football training, taking myself out for a dreadfully hayfeverish run, tidying up, shopping, collecting child from football, ironing.... anything BUT planning! Good day really!

I've made two more invites tonight- the last two to be posted- just got to wait for the RSVP's to start rolling in a bit faster than they are doing and I'll be a bit happier. I've printed out our rock label for the 'wedding file' and ordered two pairs of brown trousers for my young pageboys (not easy to come by!!).

Now looking for petal confetti and still avoiding the P word!

    Hahaha!

Well I went out and bought another purchase today and tried on THE dress again just to make sure it was the dress! (I did try on various other beforehand during the visit and when it came to putting that dress on again, I had butterflies in my tummy and once it was on I had a major beaming smile on my face!) :j

All is all, a good day, apart from I have a cold and seem to have lost hearing in my left ear, but that doesn't matter cos I got to wear my dress for at least half an hour! :j

  • I'm joining in! Getting married 6th august 2011- with 2 weeks honeymoon in morrocco after.
Decided we'd have a couple of weeks after the end of term to get things ready.

Have been teaching forever(23 years!) No children from school being invited! they are only little anyway.

We have found lots of bargains along the way, but are paying out more for the things we think are important.
And yes, I'm not working on planning until tomorrow!

I was determined it wasn't going to take me a whole year to plan- but it has!

oooh, goodness me! I've had to come on here an distract myself! I thought about writing some report comments!

H2B has gone away today for a week, I have written a loooong list of 'bits' that need doing- very few of which I can get on with! May print out my white wine labels tomorrow and try and get hold of enough plonk to get that out of the way.

We really need to get the suits sorted- we're all booked in with a major hire company ;) just need to get to them to be measured and pay for it! Tried the store we THOUGHT would be most convenient to be told that they were TRYING not to do any booking for yesterday as they had a sale on! A sale? Explained that we just wanted two measurement sets taking and choice of colours to be noted for a 30th July wedding. His reply.... 'we've got a sale on that day'. Really expected him to do the 'never mind, pop in and we'll squeeze you in' thing, but nothing. Told him I'd go to another branch!

All the invites are out- RSVP's are a bit slow- still 2/3 outstanding for the day 'do'!
Hairdresser no.3 needs contacting tomorrow for trial and day arrangements
May book make up trial for over May half term

    14 weeks, 6 days....

    Ooooh TC1978, it's all go isn't it?

I don't like the sound of that store... Should a sale stop them from helping you?! Well they've lost your custom that's for sure...

I'm attempting to get my dad to look at waistcoats, he's a very big man and will struggle to find anything in his size... I was thinking my dad and OH's dad could wear ivory (as it's popular so should be loads out there in lots of sizes) where the OH would wear navy (well, cos he's bought it!)

With regards to work, I've left my memory sticks at home whilst I'm up at my parents house ;)

I'm also having a few issues with my sister regarding bridesmaids dresses... I don't want the traditional £150 per dress type, I was thinking something simple which would cost half of that... Sorta like this http://www.debenhams.com/webapp/wcs/stores/servlet/prod_10001_10001_120010463345_-1?breadcrumb=Home%7EWomen but she's having none of it and are saying they're not very "bridesmaidy" and has said how she "hates them." :( I thought it was supposed to be mine and the OH's wedding :(

    Hi SpooneyMoose,

I live in West Essex but teach in East Herts. The wedding will be taking place in South Herts and the reception is in North London! Sounds like a lot of moving about but in reality all are within 30 mins of each other!

And there is nothing wrong with that as a bridesmaids dress - its very classy. Tough if she doesn't like it I say! One of my bridesmaids made a comment that pink doesn't suit her colouring and she doesn't like strapless dresses because it makes her shoulders look too wide but I wanted pink strapless dresses so thats whats she is wearing!

Sometimes a change of scenery is good too walby1993!

And thanks for being nice about the dress... My sister just doesn't seem to understand it (she's married, but did it Vegas style with no-one there!)

I've found another dress that I like too... http://www.wallis.co.uk/webapp/wcs/stores/servlet/ProductDisplay?beginIndex=0&viewAllFlag=&catalogId=33058&storeId=12557&productId=2308269&langId=-1&sort_field=Relevance&categoryId=209222&parent_categoryId=209166&pageSize=20&refinements=Colour{1}~[blue]&noOfRefinements=1 and have sent the link to my willing bridesmaids to see what they think! :)
