Hello everyone! I'm a special needs assistant at a primary school and h2b is a secondary teacher! We get married in August this year.

We still have lots to do. Well, it certainly feels that way! Planning on getting quite a bit done over this holiday but time is going by far too quickly for my liking!

The plan for this holiday is: send out invites, go ring shopping, try and find a reasonably priced hairdresser, decide on menu and drinks and start making all the little bits we are DIYing such as our card box and cupcake flags!

    It's never ending!

I'm not a teacher...but I do have a question to all you teacher brides and without highjacking this lovely thread..i'd love to know if you are planning to envolve your pupils in the wedding or is it a strictly non working day where you want to forget about children?...if the OP doesn't mind me intruding .....

OMG NO FLIPPING WAY WHY WOULD YOU DO THAT :rotfl::rotfl::p
Maybe it's different for primary teachers but I teach Design and Technology in a secondary school and although some of them know I am engaged there is no way in the world I would involve them!!!

We are getting married 21st July 2012. Nicely in the middle of the holidays :D

Lucky to all you who have started easter already - we have another week to go!

    xx

    Hey!
We are getting married on 13th August 2011. Nicely setting us up for 2 luxury weeks of honeymooning before I have to go back to school. :-)
I teach Year 1 in London, and last year taught some of them in Reception when OH nd I got engaged but we are geting married in Devon so as far as I know they won't be coming... although some of them do go on holiday to Devon so you never know! But my clss know all about my wedding and they keep making me practise walking down the aisle in the playground!
Oh, and I imagine that my first assembly back in September will be all about my wedding! Any chance to show off the pictures!

    :rotfl:Loving your response Silaqui!

Welcome everyone.. We're building up a nice collection of wedding dates :)

It's nice to know I'm not the only one wedding planning in the holidays and avoiding work!

How's everyone finding the work planning/wedding planning balance? Cos let's face it, our life atm is probably wedding planning! :rotfl::T

2 weeks worth of honeymooning sounds great SamW! Wish I could do that, but the H2B will probably have to scrimp and save his hols (and plead with those in charge) just to get the half term week off when we get married :(

My wedding planning far far far outweighs my work planning!!! Haha!!!

I will get better at balancing it though, there's now a chance I'll have a mixed year 1/2 class of 32 when I get back... slightly different than my little year 1 nurture class of 11! Argh!

I'm doing an NVQ Teaching assistant course atm and i have been in my school placement since September. I work with nursery children and they won't be in envolved in my wedding, but a child in reception and a child in year 1 will be envolved, as they are my children :)
I get married in 6 weeks and 6 days :O

Oooh mixed classes emz118. I don't envy you... But then again, I found behaviour better with a bigger group of children, than with a tiny group - my class is very tiny atm due to us expanding to a 2 form entry school :)

Awww Jenny1979x, congrats and that'll be lovely having your children there (plus they can tell all their friends that their mum's getting married... They might try and invite their friends too! Hehe!
