There appears to be lots of teachers out there who are getting married so I thought I'd start a thread!

It'll be interesting to see who has what done and when people are planning do sort things out (probably mostly in the holidays!)

Below are a list of teachers, teaching assistants or anyone with any school links (e.g marrying a teacher) and when they're getting married.

Good luck to everyone with their planning aka let the fun commence!

I'm not a teacher...but I do have a question to all you teacher brides and without highjacking this lovely thread..i'd love to know if you are planning to envolve your pupils in the wedding or is it a strictly non working day where you want to forget about children?...if the OP doesn't mind me intruding .....
frugal October...£41.82 of £40 food shopping spend for the 2 of us!

    2017 toiletries challenge 179 out 145 in ...£18.64 spend
  • Of course you're welcome to post on this thread! :)

I know the deputy at my school let some of her class go to her wedding...

I have told my children that I am getting married and they have asked if they could come (they're reception age) but unfortunately I'm getting married in Chester and they're all in Birmingham so it wouldn't be possible ;)

I might get the children to help me do some wedding-y stuff... Tho it all depends which year group I'm with next year, although my wedding could be linked to a real-life maths topic! Plus I think if you tell them that you're getting married then it prepares them for why your name might change :)

Oh and I could never forget about my class... They'll probably get some wedding cake off me when I go back to school :D

I'm a teacher. Well, I went for early release of contract on Friday after a hellish 6 months of my NQT year. So I'm looking for another job!

I haven't involved my pupils in the wedding. Mine wasn't the sort of school where you can do that, I wouldn't have felt comfortable! By chance my reception venue is in the same town as the school, so I may see some of mine hanging around on the park doing dodgy things.

I know a teacher who worked at another school with a different ethos, she had the kids performing at the reception venue. Absolutely wonderful.

Awww Gleeful, sorry to hear about your first six months being a bit horrid :(

I'm an NQT + 1 so I know how stressful the first year can be, although it does get better and by the second year you actually feel like a proper teacher (I kept thinking I was just on placement! Lol!)

Another teacher here :) (Am in my 5th year of teaching - currently working as a peripatetic SEN teacher supporting kids in primary schools, although I started out as a secondary maths teacher. I had a hellish 2nd year of teaching which made me leave teaching for 3 years. So glad I returned though.)

Wedding 17th July 2012 - am lucky cause my Head of Service is letting me have the day off unpaid.

How did you get into that job? Sounds like a really good job. I'm secondary.

I only have 6 days to go until my wedding!

I am a teacher too!!! Getting married 9th April 2012, the middle Monday of the 2 week break, which happens to be Easter Monday.

I teach year 2 children 1-1 numeracy in the mornings, and have had a nurture class in the afternoons this year so far, but they have just been dispersed into their next year classes to get them ready for being big importandt year 2s next year (we are an infant school.)

Sadly my contract isn't being renewed at the end of the year, so looking for something else as we speak!!!

I am doing the majority of the wedding planning in my holidays, hoping to get lots sorted this holiday, so less to worry about then.

As for my class having a role... I would like to, but because they're little, their parents would have to come, and I think then it takes away from the personal aspect of the wedding.
