Can a Pre-School teacher join?!:rotfl:
21st July 2012 - still dont know the term dates for next year - From looking at local schools term dates they seem to be finishing on the 20th July - im hoping that because we work one week less than schools we will finish the week before so last day will be 13th July, then i can spend the week getting ready!!0 -
I'm marrying a teacher, if that counts
We're not having any of her class at the wedding - we had some volunteer as bridesmaids, but it'd be awkward inviting some and not others, and as she teaches in quite a "difficult" area, some of them could be quite hard work
She could use a break from school after this year anyway (combined stress of school and wedding planning) - so hoping to avoid the children on Honeymoon, too - we took a gamble choosing DisneyWorld, but we'll be travelling about a bit before and after, so should at least get *some* time to ourselves

Hello! Another teacher avoiding the planning for next term- although I have been in to school today, found the internet was down, did some photocopying and walked out again!
Getting married Sat 30th July- had a 2 week period of available dates.... harvest and football season to contend with!
I've been a teacher for 12 years at the school I'm in- there's bound to be parents and their children coming down for a sneaky peek. I don't mind. I've built up some really nice relationships with the families that have passed through the school- takes me ages to shop in town as they just like to stop and chat! Some see this as an end of an era- last child at the school (I'm primary) and me getting married.
Invites are out- day and night, dresses sorted, been to see florist today, hog roast for pm booked... most things sorted actually- just need numbers for church so we can get orders of service underway! 15 weeks, 5 days- hurtling along at a ridiculous speed!0 -

Ah how lovely TC. Very exciting!
No work planning here today, have done no planning for first week back but my PPA is on a Tuesday am so not planning to either! Have however booked florist and cake and made enquiries about some cars.First baby due 3/3/14 - Team Yellow! Our little girl born 25/2/140 -
Hello all!
I think I've updated to list correctly (please inform me if I haven't!)
Oh and anyone linked with a school can join e.g. if you're marrying a teacher, ta etc can joinThe more, the merrier!
Ooooh and sunshine_shell you're getting married on the same date I am, but a year before!
I'm loving the lack of pupil participation in everyone's weddings... I did have one girl in my class telling me that when I get married she'll buy she a necklace... She was sorta disappointment when I told her I wouldn't be getting married until next year! Lol!
It seems we have some teacher-y date twins too...
I'm off home on Wednesday to inform my family that we have booked most things and that they should start looking for potential outfits... I'm wondering whether to just address a "save the date" card to them and hopefully when they open it, they'll a) understand what it means and b) understand that it's for next June, not this June (though that could be quite funny!)
I hope everyone's had a good Monday, whether you've been free to do what you like cos it's the holidays or you're still in school and are finishing off the mass production line of Easter cards!❤Planned our wedding, still planning lessons❤

My planning for the first week back is pretty non-existent too- PPA for me is Tuesday pm! ooh- just realised.... back on the 26th (Tuesday), PPA pm, Wednesday, Thursday and Friday is BH!! 2.5 days *snigger* I thought 3 days in, 4 days off was a good way to ease back into it....
Day 1 of Easter hols and I'm shattered! Working hard at the gym- dress is being fitted NEXT hols and I know it's a very short term (albeit with those mean and nasty SATs thrown in!)
Idiophreak- at least we'll get a week to recover and rejuvenate
Right... back to doing- erm, nothing!! zzzzz0 -
Aw TC1978, am sooo jealous of your first week back! I have PPA on Monday pm so will miss it for the first 2 weeks back, and it more of a pain as I have a year partner so we need to get together to discuss planning!
However, on Thursday (the day before the Royal Wedding) we're doing lots of exciting wedding-y stuff so it will be like a two and a half day week :j
Oh and I hope you have time to relax during this hol! I've already had my pj day where I did nothing (and that includes wedding planning which is my favourite pass time!)❤Planned our wedding, still planning lessons❤

Well will jump in here too!! Am a supply teacher and my girlfriend is so tolerant of us having to get married in the holidays!! When we booked I was teaching full time! May 28th is ours and everything in place - she says it because I am an over organised control freak! Just the painful part of paying for the res of it now to do!! Both our dresses are hanging up in the spare room away from the cat and any dangers she could do - she loves curling up on silk!!
Planning - whats that - another joy of supplying - however been on long term placement so have some maths I need to do - sum total of three days of maths to get done!0 -
Awww welcome frogprince
Congrats on the forthcoming wedding and well done for getting everything planned! (Even to the extent of keeping everything away from the cat!)
As for the maths... BooooWedding stuff is much more fun!
