    Hi,

I hope you don't mind me lurking on here as I'm not a teacher!

I'm a Brownie leader at a local unit and was wondering if anyone had any ideas for any crafty type things the kids could make that I could display at the wedding? They all keep asking me when they can start making things- if it was down to them they'd have made all the invitations/namecards etc for me! A couple even offered to make a dress for me ha!

The unit is in Bristol and my wedding in Northumberland so they can't be involved directly on the day (plus they're all off at camp that weeked which im sure is much more appealing to them), but I thought it would be a nice touch to try and include them in the preparations. If anyone has any suggestions they would be much appreciated as i'm really struggling at the moment!

Have you thought about having a 'wishing tree' or anything similar? You could get them to make the 'tree' by spray painting and decorating branches, and you could get them all to decorate little cards/slips of paper, punch a hole in them and attach ribbon for people to write their messages on and hang them on the tree? You could have some sort of sign prominently stating that the Brownies had made it, in case it looks like it's been made by kids lol!

Or how little are Brownies? If they are little then getting them to draw pictures of you and your OH/random wedding related pictures might be really cute and you could make them into a collage and use as the background for a sign welcoming people to the wedding...or, if you're having a post-box for people to give you cards you could stick their pictures all over it...but I don't know how young Brownies are so that would probably only be cute if they are really little!

Or get them to do the name place cards or whatever you call them...it would be cute for each person to have an individual hand decorated place card!

Well it's certainly been quite here! I was lurking as a *possible* future teacher but found out on Saturday that I've been accepted onto my PGCE!
So I'm getting married in 3.5 weeks and have to submit my PhD thesis in 13.5 weeks. I'll not lie I'm freaking out a little bit! Not helped by someone saying "oh well I assume you're postponing the wedding and/or not going on honeymoon"......we're definitely not postponing and if someone trys to take away my honeymoon I will not be accountable for my actions!

Thanks guys :) my BM just told me she had been thiking of suggesting that we postpone the honeymoon but didn't want me to freak out lol. Even if it weren't already paid off in full I don't think I could bring myself to do that, to me or OH!
