  • Your colour scheme sounds gorgeous! Love the gold idea! Doing lots of internet searching at the mo so will keep my eye out for gold shoes!! 5 months will fly by! How exciting!

Thanks! I keep having a look on ebay etc looking for bits and pieces. Half the time I just type in wedding and nosey what comes up! Haha!
Trying to do my termly planning before we go back tomorrow but all this wedding excitement is taking over!! lol! x

Haha! I know what you mean, I haven't done anything work-wise yet (tho I did try to do some before we broke up.)

Wedding planning is much more exciting! :j Have you looked at dresses yet or possible ideas of what you might like to wear?

I keep doing that too, typing in Cadbury purple wedding, it's mad how many things come up! Have bought a few little bits already, couldn't resist!! Glad it's not just me that does that!

Looked on the internet at a few dresses to get ideas of styles etc but going to wait til Feb half term to go and have a proper look and try on!!!x

That's what I did, waited until Feb half term and found "the one." Tho I had to go back during the Easter hols to have another looked and asked the woman in the bridal shop to pick out some dressses which would suit me, thankfully she picked out my dress and I knew it was the one as I had butterflies when I took it off the hanger.

It's very exciting going on the dress hunt! :D

What little bits and pieces have you bought so far?

I know, I can't wait! That's amazing that she picked out YOUR dress, must be the perfect one for you, how lovely!!

Only bought a few things as I'm terribly indecisive and will probably change my mind along the way! Bought some gorgeous Cadbury Purple organza bags to put our favours in - am thinking Cadbury's miniture chocolates and Buttons for the children! Might get a few silver Cadburys choc coins to scatter on table too, nearer the time!
Also bought some purple butterflies for the invites, table plan, place cards etc and some purple gems for the table.
All that and we haven't even been to a venue yet! Must stop! :j

But the good thing about buying little things is you know you've got them, plus it's always good to buy things when you see them otherwise when you need them you might not be able to find them.

Once you sort your venue out and finalise a date there'll be no stopping you!

Have you got any venues in mind and are you having a civil or church ceremony?

Theres no stopping me now! Just bought more table confetti from ebay, need to stop!!! he he!

Got a few venues in mind but still not 100% sure whether we want a church or civil ceremony. Neither of us are very religious so I think we'll probably go down the route of a civil ceremony, maybe in a hotel.

    Where are you getting married?

We're getting married in a small hall in Cheshire as my family live in Lancs and his live in the Midlands. Neither of us are religious either so we thought it'd be the best option, not that a few of my family agree.

Haha about the confetti, your OH will probably try and bar you from Ebay! I know most times when I'm on the computer, I'm usually multi-tasking with work and wedding stuff.

Have you gone for purple table confetti?

That sounds gorgeous! And I know what you mean about some family members not agreeing, we've discussed that too as I know a few of the 'older' family members wont be impressed if we have a civil ceremony and not a church one, but at the end of the day it's not up to them! And you're never going to please everybody! Having enough of a nightmare getting numbers down, it's a nightmare!

My OH doesn't know about all my purchases yet but he's always home before me and when the packages start arriving i'll soon be in trouble!! Yeah, went for purple heart shaped sparkly confetti and some silver too! Have already ordered some purple gems. I'll probably get far too many things, but it's too much fun ordering stuff to stop!

Well I'm one step closer to being able to join this thread! I've applied to do a PGCE next year and have just received an interview date! Scary! In fairness if I get in to the course I'll be married before I start it but so nervous and excited about it I needed to share! :)

hope the interview goes well cathy- give us a shout if you need a hand, what age group is it for? I did my PGCE 3 years ago :)

I can officially join here I got engaged christmas eve looking at either October half-term this year (could be pushing it?!) otherwise next year either in March or October. For colours I'm thinking Royal Blue and Silvers.

I teach part time so have time for wedding planning but as a result also have low finances so will be trying to save as much as possible.
A big thank you to all those who post on the forum and make it a worthwhile place!!!:j
