Thanks butterfly! It's for secondary biology. I've been volunteering in my old school one day a week (I'm in the final year of my PhD) so that'll hopefully help me a bit! I just have to think of something to do a 5 minute discussion on! On the plus side I got to buy something to wear to the interview! (to show slight MSE-ness the trousers were £38 down to £18 in next!)

  • Well I'm glad that's over! I think the interview went quite well! There's nothing I've thought "oh crap I should/shouldn't have said ______" which is always good! And teh 2 people on the panel were lovely and friendly and sounded pleased or impressed in all the right places :) Now the wait begins and hopefully I'll be joing you all as a teacher soon!
  • Please can I join in this thread? I'm doing my PGCE at the moment and currently starting to plan our wedding for Jul/Aug 2013. Start my second placement on Monday so all thoughts of weddings will probably go on the back burner until thats done :-(

hope the interview goes well cathy- give us a shout if you need a hand, what age group is it for? I did my PGCE 3 years ago :)

I can officially join here I got engaged christmas eve looking at either October half-term this year (could be pushing it?!) otherwise next year either in March or October. For colours I'm thinking Royal Blue and Silvers.

I teach part time so have time for wedding planning but as a result also have low finances so will be trying to save as much as possible.

Congrats to you all and to some of you welcome to the mad world that is teaching!

I've added you all to the front page (when you know specific dates I'll add those too.)

Hope everyone is well and enjoying the *cough* wedding *cough* planning ;)
Planned our wedding, still planning lessons

Finding it a real struggle to concentrate on lesson planning when wedding planning is way more fun!x

    Ooooh yay! :j:beer:

Wedding planning is far more fun than lesson planning but alas I must get on with making smartboards for tomorrows topic planning :(

I have however been having a nosey on ebay :D so much to buy, yet not enough money (plus I doubt OH would be best pleased with random purchases! :rotfl:)

I'm the same...just spent the past 2 hours making resources for this weeks Literacy and Numeracy and sourcing activities to go with our topic! Time to reward myself with a spot of browsing on ebay - it's seriously dangerous going on there! Like you said, so much to buy but need to be sensible!!! :rotfl:

I've just spent the evening sorting out invitations and making sure they all had the addresses on etc.... My aim was to mark half of my Literacy books but it just hasn't happened.

I did mark Maths and Topic before I got home tho so it's not too bad.

I really need to make another Topic smartboard for tomorrow but I don't want to and the OH isn't much help as he's playing Star Wars on the Wii!

Did you buy anything from ebay last night? I saw the cutest favour/place names in one... Little chairs although at £22+ for 50 I thought it a tad expensive (however when you break it down it's only 44p for each one! :rotfl:)
