Bosch, Siemens & Neff (and quite a few more) are all brands owned by the same company.

Bosch und Siemens Hausgeräte GmbH (BSH) is the parent company. As well as the two parent companies they also own Neff and Gaggenau (as I mentioned above) along with Thermador (USA and Canada), Constructa (Germany), Viva (Central Europe) and Ufesa (Spain and the U.A.E). These are known as their "special" brands.

    They also own the following:
Balay (Spain), Profilo (Turkey), Pitsos (Greece) and Coldex (Peru). These are known as their "regional" brands.

    Hope that's comprehensive enough? :D

Had a Bosch for 10 years with no problems at all, would have no problems recommending one and would happily buy another. We live in a soft water area, might be different with hard water.

Do check out Bosch and especially Siemens websites for special 5 year labour and parts warranties on certain models at certain times

We have an integrated Siemens one and its great (about 18mths old now I think) - pretty quiet and washes (and dries ;) ) just fine as a dishwasher should do.
Has the delay timer which is useful and only 3 programs which is plenty including a quick 25 min splash and dash!

One reason NOT to:- they don't break down !!

Wish i had your confidence, hope i do after owning one,
But as a mechanical engineer, you can understand my scepticism.

Think all we need is a mid-range model, mostly use one prog over last few years

I *cough* have an apology to make.

I was wrong with the make of dishwasher I said didn't dry. My better half put me right on it tonight. It was in fact something called Prima.

So...Siemens is back on my shopping list ! :)

I had to strip down the door of our dishwasher a while back to repair it.

It's lasted another 6 years since, but.....how come you always have 3 spare screws left over ? :D
