Are you taking the p*ss?0 -
There you go, i dont believe and neither does any of the professionals that have seen her that my dd does know what shes doing, she barely remembers things after she's done them let alone that she is doing wrong
BUT if you think she may have mental illness why is she undiagnosed and 12 ?0 -

To me it sounds like you need to look at different schooling options for her. If she's being bullied and the school can't keep an eye on her, you should make that a priority in my opinion.
As to the rights and wrongs of you or anyone else getting DLA, thats a totally different field, but I really doubt you'll get any help with mobility, but there does sound like there may be a case for LRC or something, if she does soil herself, but as someone with no clinical expertise at all, just a modicum of common sense, it does sound like your daughter has issues at home, as that is where she seems to be more problamatical, I'd think that she needs help addressing these problems. LRC would though at least allow her to use the bus I guessOpinions are like bottoms - We all have one, just some stink more than others
Service Attributable Pension - War Pension - War Pensioners Unemployability Supplement - War Pensioners Invalidity Allowance - War Pensioners Comforts Allowance - War Pensioners Mobility Allowance - War Pensioners Child Allowance - Housing Benefit - Council Tax Benefit0 -
i would say the same ..i lived in a drain for a week when i was about 9 .. i new what i was doing i said i could not remember how i got there..

She is undiagnosed because mental health is very rarely diagnosed before this age, its much harder to diagnose in children and previously they said she is too young to diagnose, especially if it is skitzophrenia as her grandmother had0 -

They seem to have totally disregarded everything I wrote on the form (and god knows I thought I wrote enough, 20 sheets of extra info detailing every little difficulty and the mobility and care needs associated... sigh)
I suffer severe diabetes complications (constant neuropathy, every step is agony) proliferative retinopathy (my eyes are failing at a staggeringly fast rate with greatly reduced vision, even my consultant is shocked) and all the other delightful pain and fatigue associated with being undiagnosed for 10+ years.
So, where do I go from here? Do I go straight to appeal or ask for a reconsideration? If so what do I need to do? (write, phone, request appeal form? etc). I'm so livid, it's been a particularly bad pain week for me but according to them I can dance a jig whilst balancing a ball on my nose!!
I have a referral to a counselling service Tuesday as I'm not coping well at all at the moment, being in constant pain really can make you want to jump from a very tall building... should I get them to get involved in the appeal?
I want to go about this right but this is my first application, would appreciate advice please.
My husband has the same conditions, he was diabetic for 32 years, He was also on dialysis and they turned him down too, I appealed and again it was rejected even though by this point he had also had his leg amputated so ended up going to a tribunal. Won it in the end after 13 months and got it for 5 years and upon renewal got it indefinatetly.
I have not long contacted them as he had a kidney & pancreas transplant was prepared for them to try and take it off him but they have said as his care & mobility is still the same so we still get it.september wins - toshiba laptop, timotei shampoo & conditioner, mccains games, pimms picnic blanket.
october wins - grants tumblers, £20 petrol voucher, sega console, iphone
novembers wins - £50 on walkers rainy day, £50 itunes voucher
march wins - dog treats0 -

I have now knowledge as to the illness, but the Schizophrenia Society appear to differ from your view, having just checked out their site. If you have not already looked at it, I suggest you check there as the symptoms you describe are different in a big way to the ones you quote (not saying I don't believe you, just that they differ).0 -
To be fair mental illness isn't usually diagnosed in children as young as 12, and even then most medications are not approved for use in under 18's. And they definitely don't like to diagnose BPD in anyone under 18.This is a system account and does not represent a real person. To contact the Forum Team email forumteam@moneysavingexpert.com0

they said when she was 3 possible adhd (i must point out she has always had behaviour problems) but too young to diagnose, since then she has seen child psychologist, speech therapist, family therapist and councellor again they all said too young to diagnose and bring her back when she older. I had hoped it would fizzle out with age but its gotten much worse and more disturbing and so finally have got a referral to camhs.
I was completely honest on dla form i explained the issues I have with her and where I have to give her more supervision, help, encouragement. Explained all her problems (too many to list). Explained the history including the abuse and the mental health in family. Explained who she has previously seen and now finally got a referral to camhs but diagnosis could be a long way off. explained how she has a split personality and her episodes can last from a few hours to a few weeks and she rarely remembers them after. i went through everything really.
Before I put in an application I rang dla to explain about dd and the lady said it sounds like I have a chance of getting dla so no harm in trying. I'm not someone who is after whatever money i can get but it would be fantastic to have some respite now and then and to be able to get help with dd's transport which would be a huge weight off my mind. If i'm not elegible then so be it.0
