The sunflowers are doing well here in Sussex, the early warmth seems to suit 'em.0

That looks amazing Lotus!
The ones of mine planted out aren't doing as well as the ones I haven't got out of pots yet. Both are out all the time now.0 -

Wow thats a huge sunflower!!
I planted 4 out and 3 are doing well, 1 poor sunflower died though!! The blackbirds have teamed up with the slugs to get past the copper tape barriers! Blackbird is throwing the bark chip mulch at the base and covering the copper tape, and the slugs are getting in, very sneaky!! Maybe blackbird figures if he feeds the slugs up theyll taste even better

How cold is too cold for sunflower seedings (most only have their two baby leaves!) I have had them covered in fleece for a couple of days cos it has got to 4*C outside but at what point is nighttime temp warm enough for them cos I am a bit clueless!! Also my DD wants to know how big they have to be before we can plant them in the ground? Thanks for any help.Courage is the art of being the only one who knows you're scared to death.

I'll join, even if it is a bit late - mine have two baby leaves and have been providing the local birdlife with a challenge and the cat with a purpose in life - to prevent the birdies from winning the challenge.I could dream to wide extremes, I could do or die: I could yawn and be withdrawn and watch the world go by.Yup you are officially Rock n Roll0
