Thanks for the advice
I'll do that now - sheez, I shall have accounts coming out of my ears :rotfl:0 -
I opened an account yesterday and debited a pound. I'm on the new style site, but I cant see anywhere where it says my interest rate or even the name of savings product.
Could anyone be so kind as to tell me where the rate should appear?
Just want to be sure im on the correct rate before I leave money in there for the year! Cheers0 -
Thanks - I have almost everything with Halifax - so transferring the money about is easy, must have had a dim moment when I clicked on the cashcard option0

Thanks to this thread I became aware of the Halifax Web Saver Reward account last week and on Friday 1st April I opened one.
Or did I?
My online account is now displaying a new Websaver account but that's not what I wanted!
I was signed in at the time and clicked through as an existing Halifax account holder. And yes, I chose not to recieve a card with it. Yes, I funded it with an opening deposit of £1 and then £1500 more the next day. Yes, I have the 'old' Halifax online accounting system and thus cannot see the interest rate on me other Websaver and Websaver Extra accounts but can on my fixed rate ISA. So what do I do now?
It's now Tuesday and the account is not being classed as a Websaver Reward. If it was, I'd be confident the interest rate is at least 2.8% leading to 3% if I continue to fund 1k into my current account each month.
Should I phone Halifax and inquire about it? Be patient and give it time?
On Friday 8th April I plan to go into my local branch to deposit the 2011/12 ISA allowance so should I bring up this matter then?0 -

Thanks. That's eased my worries a bit since I'm thinking of transferring my savings from the Halifax Websaver Extra into the Websaver Reward and I have to be sure the interest rate is there before I do so.
I'll phone them sometime over the next few days and have it clarified.0 -

It is currently impossible to open a variable rate websaver without a card - all applications for such an account will default to the Web Saver Reward at 2.8/3%.
So as long as you don't get a card through for the account, then you'll be fine.0 -

Want to update my situation...
Telephoned the Halifax savings line 08456020000 to enquire whether the application for a Websaver Reward was successful and it was!
Even though it's currently displaying as a Websaver variable on my online account, I was assured it is paying 2.8% (Will be 3% if I continue to meet current account £1000 per month over the next year)
While on the phone I also closed my Websaver Extra account and transferred the balance to the Web Reward (That will take a few days to complete because they will be including the interest I've earned since the beginning of it's second year last month.)
I am very pleased with the Halifax customer service (light years ahead of my dealings with Santander last year) and recommend them strongly. :j0
