Fairly sure any internal transfer will go through. If not immediately, within a few hours. ...
I've just done this (from WebSaver Extra to WebSaver Reward) and can confirm it is instant if you use the "quick transfer" route.

One observation on this account concerns Faster Payments.

I tried setting up several payment recipients from this account, who I knew took faster payments, but found the payments all go via the 3 day route.

I checked with the Halifax helpdesk, and they told me they don't allow Faster Payments out of Savings Accounts. (I've been using them from my Nat West equivalent account, so thought they might work).

You can transfer into this account via Faster Payments without any problems.

However, transfers to a Reward Current Account are instant, and Faster Payments work fine from there, so I suppose it's not a big issue - but another incentive to have the Current Account as well.

If anyone knows, perhaps they could confirm a couple of questions I have regarding interest calculations and payment...

    (1) Is interest calculated daily?
    (2) Is interest paid annually (on the anniversary of opening)?
    (3) Are interest calculations included in summary statements through the year?

    Thanks!

I opened one just now. What a breeze it was. Another quick question for the experts though:

Is the high rate for 12 months from opening, or from the first deposit? I didn't deposit in it just in case it's the latter, but I suspect it's the former.

    Thanks.

I opened mine yesterday and just put fifteen quid in. It's still not letting you see the interest rate which is annoying. I don't feel like putting much in there till I can see the 2.8% with my own eyes.

I opened my account on Friday and the interest was not shown until the next working day (today).

If you are worried, wait until tomorrow. You will only lose 0.008% interest!

Are you on the old online banking? If that is the case, the interest rate won't show.

"You must open and pay at least £1 into your account on the same day to qualify for Halifax Web Saver Reward." From the account T&Cs.
