Hopefully, I can help to put aside some peoples worries here.

I have literally just gone into my Halifax online account & have been upgraded to the new site.

I set up a Websaver Reward savings account a few days ago and have also been worried whather I was earning the 2.8% interest as it did not display on the old style site & was displayed as Websaver variable with no mention of "reward".

Well, now I have the new fangled site, I can see I was worrying unnecessarily, because upon clicking on the interest rate, I am indeed earning the promised 2.8%.

I must admit, they could try to make things a little clearer for people still stuck on the old style site, but I guess gradually we'll all be on it.

Happy saving guys and gals

I have a 2.2% Guaranteed Saver account at the moment, and I try to put about 500-1000 in there each month when I get paid, then when I get paid the month after I move it all to my ISA (so if I do need some money I don't have to take it out of my ISA)

By doing this, will I even make any money? :|

If so, do I just close it and open a Variable Saver account, or leave it open with £1 in it?

No form needed to get the additional 0.2% on new accounts.

Form needed to have it applied to any accounts opened prior to 4th (I think) Jan 2010.
After receiving the confirmation letter that failed to mention 'reward', I phoned customer service checking that I had indeed got the WS 'Reward' account.
The helpful lady said I had to register a £1000 pm funded (or an Ultimate) current ac to get the 0.2% anniversary bonus, which she could do 'over the phone'. It only took a min. I have several funded accounts since the early days; is she incorrect?

I'm fed up with Halifax with the way they operate their reward accounts (ie account details/confirmation details not being clearer). Like you, my confirmation letter only refers to a Web Saver, yet I've got 4 reward current accounts (1 joint). Also, online, the account name is left to your own device, you name it yourself, so there's no real confirmation there either. I don't want to ring them up as someone else on this forum who rang re a query was told by the CS that they noticed they'd got excess reward current accounts and so they were going to close them. It would also help if they came up with a different name for each account, instead of a varient of Web Saver something or other.

Like opinions4u, I take it to mean that if you already have a reward current account in force, and that if you don't have any pre 4 Jan 2010 reward savings accounts, then they don't require the form to be completed.

Yes, she was incorrect. You only need to register accounts that were opened before 4th Jan 2010.

Same, they do the same with the Guaranteed Saver Reward - you just get a letter saying Guaranteed Saver.

At least now you can see the interest rate online (or will be able to soon if you cannot already) so you can confirm that it's the correct account that way.

Parents just opened a joint Web Saver.

Second applicant logged in and was told it would take 48 hours to confirm some details. Anyone else had this?

Just a matter of interest, Halifax did send me 2 letters to confirm the openning of the Wed Saver. One for the Web Saver, another one is for the 0.2% bonus.

I also recieved those letters from Halifax.

Following on from my last post, yesterday the two accounts I closed over the phone were both offically closed and the balances plus interest were paid into my Web Saver Reward.

So Halifax have gone up even higher in my estimation. Now just waiting for them to pay the interest on my one year fixed rate ISA that I thought would be paid yesterday...

How long after receiving the letter confirming account opening did you receive the letter confirming the 0.20%?

Opened the account on Friday 1st April and received the letters on Thursday 7th April. Although the letters were dated 4th April.
