Opened the account on Friday 1st April and received the letters on Thursday 7th April. Although the letters were dated 4th April.

I too opened the account on 1 April, but have only had one letter dated 1 April which confirms that I've opened the account, not received one confirming the 0.20%.

I do not think you get the 0.2% letter if you are already receiving the reward on other accounts.

There were two papers in the envelope I recieved. One addressed thanking me for choosing to save with Halifax (They're welcome, I do have four accounts with them) the second paper was a stand alone entitled
ADITIONAL -.20%AER/gross pa savings interest - Special Conditions
It then gave details of what accounts qualified and the conditions that needed to be met.

I haven't got any other Web Saver Reward accounts.

The Reward is also included on some ISAs and other savings accounts. If you have a Reward current account, as long as £1000 is deposited in there each month, you'll receive £5 a month.

How long after receiving the letter confirming account opening did you receive the letter confirming the 0.20%?

My 2nd letter (bonus one) arrived 2 or 3 days after the confirmation letter of opening.

Does anyone objectively speakin think it's a good idea to move my savings from a gauranteed saver 2% to this (2.8%)?

    Thanks in advance.

I would. Leave the Guaranteed Saver open with £1 in if you qualify for the 0.2% loyalty bonus.

That way you also keep the option of ATM card and branch access if needed.
