gingin wrote:Hi, Pennineman! Whereabouts do you live? (if you don't mind me asking). We spent a year a couple of years ago on the Yorkshire/Lancashire Border (in the hills outside of Hebden Bridge) and we loved it so much, it is so beautiful up there.
Hi gingin
Not a million miles away from Hebden Bridge, just over the hills in Rossendale. And, it's not bad living here, 'tho Hebden Bridge might just pip us I think . . . .
Five mins walk away is this . . . .

I'm new to this so is it customery to Thank everyone in this particular thread? I've noticed everyone has had loads - I like to know the etiquette
Those photos are beautiful, I'd give my right arm to live somewhere like that *sigh*

Hi embb, welcome to os, please stay!!!!
I wanted to post a picture of where I live now as a comparison but my the only picture I have of my backyard is with my son with no shirt on so not really appropriate. Let's just say it couldn't be more of a difference from the pennines (think postage stamp!), it was very painful to leave to say the least and I too would give my right arm to be back there too!0 -

You dont have to thank everyone, unless you want to. Some people like to say thanks as a way of saying, 'i have read your post', some are thanking for a name check or a comment they appriciate. Its up to you!!!!0 -

Thanks for the tip Shez...I've had a look at the Robert Dyas website and quickly found the offer you mentioned. Unfortunately they have no stores over here in N.Ireland (I used to use them quite a lot when I lived in London so know them to be good) but was shocked to discover that the cheapest delivery to N.Ireland is £14.95 while mainland Britain addresses are charged only £4.95 for the same service!!! That rather takes the tarnish off their good deals. I won't be using them again especially since other stores eg John Lewis who don't exist here either can deliver to N.Ireland at the same price as to addresses in GB!Shez wrote:
snowy/catowen - They have got the Morphy Richards Slowcooker at Robert Dias on offer at the moment - dont know if that helps you?
PennineMan...my Henry did the same as your Henry, ie he just walked in one day and decided not to leave. He was a starving stray though and I didn't have the heart to put him out. While he was initially afraid and very defensive he eventually settled down into a big cuddly softee who liked to be picked up and to snore all day long...he really was a beauty...0 -
