Just thought I would make the most of DS watching Thomas to pop and and post. DD is having her nap - she was up at 5am this morning - so was DH:rotfl: :rotfl:
We had turkey yesterady so I am going to finish making the turkey and leek pie in a minute. Since Mr Bad examples pie challenge this will be the third pie I have made. Turns out DH loves pies.
I was planning on making the weetabix brownies latter as I think this may be ok with the toddlers:eek: DD tends to just eat all the ingredients. AMie your adults version sounds nice so I may try this latter
First load of clothes is already washed. DS wants to go and play in the woods latter (that means play in the puddles and more clothes washing)
Hugs to all

Morning everyone
Running late due to having a very grumpy DD today. So, I promise I will read the whole thread later.
DS gets his braces fitted today. I'm not sure how he will cope with it for the first few days at least. He is a lad who loves his grub.
Busy week this week. Lots of appointments and I think my boss will want me to work overtime too.
DD goes on a residential trip with the school. She is so looking forward to it (and if this mood persists, I will be looking forward to it too. )
Have a marvellous Monday everyone. x"Bad planning on your part does not constitute an emergency on my part."

Morning all
Sorry I haven't been on for a few days, the project I've been working on launched over the weekend. I know we can't give out urls here, so I'll tell you it is a website about homelessness and you might accidently come across it mentioned on the tv this week
My weekend was frantic and well packed, drove 550 miles, ended up in casualty with a friend (broken wrist), 6 hours sleep and watched England get wipped at Twickenham. I need a week off
Today I find out if I was successful in the job that I had an interview for last week, keeping fingers crossed.
Welcome embb lovely people here
So sorry to read you're not very well ancasta. Did you manage to exchange on Friday, or has it been delayed?
Take care all

Morning everyone
.
Lol, my 2 are watching Thomas as well, I always sing the song at the end
, I like a bit of Thomas karaoke .
Oh is about to take ds to school which is nice. Need to pop to Mr T's as we have no milk (no cup of tea this morning) and lots of other basics. Children were happy with jam toast for breakfast though.
A reminder for anyone that is interested that it is 15p listings day on Ebay tomorrow so I am going to load lots of items onto turbo lister in preparation. I also have 8 parcels to pack and post.
Oh and I are going away for almost a week together next week, I have never left dd overnight before so feeling pretty nervous, she's a real mummy's girl. Anyway my mum and dad are looking after the children in our house so I want to get everything shipshape for their visit, which will probably take me all week! My mum likes things just so, but on a positive note at least the house will be straight for christmas (before it descends back into chaos!).
I'm enjoying I'm a celeb at the moment, I would like Myleene to win but it looks like it is between David Gest and Jason Donovan.
Have a good day
Edit: Anniebooklover, good luck to your ds. I can remember eating a lot of soup after I had mine fitted, it's worth it now but ouch, it did hurt.0 -
Morning all!
CCStar- hope it goes well with your son tonight!
Fingers crossed for my DS1 who has his first ever interview today!
Am off shopping with mum today to help her with her christmas shopping as I've done most of mine. She's treating me to lunch out!:j
Have a good day all and hugs to those who need them.
PP hope you're feeling ok after your bad news xx
Take care xxDo what you love :happyhear0 -
Morning all.
Taplady - Hope it goes well for him. DS1 had his a few weeks ago and is now so happy in his first job.
Welcome Embb.
AMIE - sounds like there is going to be mass fun in your house on Friday night. I'm missing nearly all of it this year and DS2 and I loved watching it together last year.
I'm toying whether to load WM as it's so wet out. Keeps going bright tho so may risk it. Just hate wet towels around the house but don't want a build up.
After getting my electric bill in on Friday, I'm on an absolute purge to reduce it. My SIL's was tiny compared to ours so I've read meter (do it each mon) and going to watch day to day my consumption. Wondering if it's the cooker and WM. Have started batch cooking in the last couple of weeks, tho.
Well, egg and fingers eaten so I must start the cleaning. Going to have an hours manic splurge and then settle with my library book to finish it before tonight. Already had it renewed so it's now or never and too good to miss reading..

Oh do shut up!!
It's only the first test so you never know we may thrash you in the next one :rotfl: No I'm not convinced either.
Thankfully I can't watch it as I don't have sky anymore! lol
Hi All
Not much going on for me at the moment, work all day, then a bit of cleaning and cooking later. I've managed to throw out the key to the shed
so we can't get into it for all the gunea pig stuff. OH was not really very impressed.
For my punishment I have to go and get more sawdust and clean him out later (the gunea pig, not OH).
I seem to have quite a bit of food in the house so I will redo my mealplan to make sure it's used up and I don't have to go shopping all week.
Oh and I've managed to secure myself a slow cooker on freecycle. Got to pick it up later today! :j My work colleague couldn't believe I didn't already have one, it was her that finally convinced me I could really benefit from one. I was about to splurge and buy one, then I asked for one on Freecycle and bingo!
Very happy. We’ve had to remove your signature. Please check the Forum Rules if you’re unsure why it’s been removed and, if still unsure, email forumteam@moneysavingexpert.com0 -
Hello Oldstylers,
Its been a cold rainy week hasn't it?
This week I've been trying to be OS.It always seems harder in the colder weather.
I Raided the boxes in the shed (DH still decorating after 9 months
)and rescued about 6 Raymond feist books for DS.
Ive been hanging the washing indoors all week it takes 2 days per load to dry.
Friday I Mended the shed roof's felt which was trying to blow off in the high wind. Its only a running reair but a stitch in time etc...
I re-mended my shoes with super glue. They have a split in the sole but they are so light and comfortable.
I managed to pick a little bit of broccoli from the garden and some sprouts so we still have homegrown on the menu.
I sent off for £10 boots voucher from Pigsback after only 3 weeks.I've belonged to a couple of survey sites for years and never had a thing back so this is a first with a moneyback site!
Finally I got round to Crushing up a years supply of eggshells for the garden,I did the same last year and the brassicas really have done well.
Saturday I made left over pasta into dinner with cheese and pilchards and white sauce. It was pretty good.Pilchards do go well with cheese.
Then yesterday I got a huge chicken in sommerfields for £4 down from about £5.50 .Which will do about 4 meals and a round of sandwiches.
Today I've got biscuits to make, probably this afternoon.
Then instead of being lazy I bought 3 1 week tickets each for the kids for their bus ride to college instead of 1 , 1 month ticket each and saved £8.I had been going to do the lazy thing but thought how long it takes to accrue £8 in cashbacks or surveys and how ridiculous I was for not wanting to be bothered.Especially as it was the same trip to the bus depot whatever I did.
right off to have breakfast now ,I'm starving
