Afternoon everyone.
I've read everything and have completely forgotten what everyone said so hugs to all that need them.
Chardonnay I have just finished Syberia II . They are both great!
I hope everyone is having a better day than me. DH is still in a grouch over me spending £45 on a pair of comfortable boots on Saturday. I got stuck in a traffic jam this morning so Mum was late for her hospital appointment and I then got a parking ticket because I was in such a rush I didn't notice that the road I normally park in had changed to permit holders only. Luckily Dad gave me the £30 to pay the parking fine when I took Mum home again. I got caught in a torrential downpour when I went to pay the invoice for their gas fire and had to drive home soaked to the skin. Now I have to prepare a leek, bacon and potato pie for tea. Do the school run at 3pm, collect DS from detention at 4.15, get home, cook pie, serve tea, drive DS to band practice, come home, collapse for an hour and then back out to pick him up at 8.
I hate Mondays
Organised people are just too lazy to look for things

Hi Snowyowl
Love your avatar but sorry to hear about Henry. We have a Henry too who looks not a little unlike yours. He arrived a couple of years ago - just wandered in and made himself at home. Now he's a permanent resident - of course. And just loves the warmth . . . . .
Still, better get a move on with today - which started around 6:15 a.m. when I got up, fed both cats, let Henry out, made penninewoman's breakfast (homemade wholemeal bread toast of course:cool: ) and then . . . . sauntered back to bed for an hour or two before getting up to start on the housework and shopping. Oh, and I must book our Fabia in to have its reversing lights sorted (not working). Our local Skoda garage are great so shouldn't be too expensive!
Have a good day everyone.Where now?0 -
Hi everyone! Haven't yet read the thread but hugs to those who need them.
Having had a rather difficult day with my MIL on Sat [very sad...dementia] we did manage to pop out for a bit and I picked up a lovely book all about country crafts which includes some interesting seasonal recipes. It's huge and only cost £2:j OH also found a puzzle which he can do over Chrimbo and small person got some books. We also managed to find a replacement for one of OH's brushed cotton shirts which has completely given up the ghost. So a successful foray.
Yesterday was a little jollier...made a shepherds pie for evening and made some HM digestive biccies. Also got the ironing and mending jobs up to date. All rounded off by a close inspection of Daniel Craig's acting skills [you'll understand that I was simply forced to go of course:rotfl: :rotfl: ] Loved every minute of Casino Royale!!
Today I've made the beds, tidied up, bin and recycling out and white wash done. Also have picked up a prescription for the small person. Will need to put the washing out when I get back and I think OH and I have got the accounts to finish. That's if there's any money left...our exhaust went at the weekend and we sound embarrassingly like boy racers. Only we're in a not very boyracerish Fiat Punto!!
It's mushroom tagliatelle for tea I do believe.
Have a great day!

Hi
Well my day is going well today.
Turkey pie almost ready to go in the oven.
Weetabix brownies - cooked and eaten - DD did maange to spill large amounts of the mixture on the floor, and eat quite a lot of weetabix. She is only 15 months, and a very exuberant character, and needs to help with what ever mummy and big brother (2.5) is doing.
Floor vacummed by DS - and rebrushed by mummy.
Stock from yesterdays turkey boiling
Dishwasher on again.
Normally I don't seem to get much done at all on my days at home, but I am feeling much better today. I think this could be that I accepted a new job last week, although it is in central London, it will only be 2 days a week  My current contract should have finished in December and while I was only doing 2 days a week I hated the job, the people I worked with were very odd, and one memebr of staff walked out last week because to the way they spoke to her.
Any way - sounds like nap time is over

Hi, Pennineman! Whereabouts do you live? (if you don't mind me asking). We spent a year a couple of years ago on the Yorkshire/Lancashire Border (in the hills outside of Hebden Bridge) and we loved it so much, it is so beautiful up there.0 -
Hi all! just got back from christmas shopping with mum, had a lovely M & S sarnie, latte and cake:o yum yum!
Didn't buy anything myself except some doggie christmas presents for my 3 and I donated some dog biscuits to the dog rescue centre.
Got a huge pile of ironing to get through as its work tomorrow.
Powie69 - I hope you feel better soon, I've had sinusitis and its horrible x
Catch you all later xxDo what you love :happyhear0 -
Hiya everyone
Hope everyone is well and (((hugs))) to those who aren't. Special big ((hugs)) to PP at the moment too.
Have had a quick read of today's thread but as I was away all weekend, have undoubtedly missed loads of stuff.
Did absolutely NO OS this weekend - me 'n' Nels went for a girlie weekend in Leeds - shopping, drinking wine, shopping, eating, shopping .... you get my drift? Only have 1 pressie left to get (BIL's), so it was a successful weekend. My mum bought me a fantastic pair of grey wool trousers from Whistle, for xmas - which she didn't know about till I got home
Have to compose a rather important letter tonight. Our hotel - 4 star, luxury room ..... let's say Fawlty Towers would have been better. We'd have been better off in a Travel Lodge, but it was so bad it was hilarious in the end. I think the high-light was the fire alarm going off at 1.30 am and me n Nels taking the back stairs, (unlike all the other guests who took the main stairs), rushing down 20 floors, bursting through the fire doors at the bottom ......
into the main street, to be gazed at by a police carrier full of coppers and the party goers leaving the nightclub. The main entrance is at the other side so no-one could hear the alarms. So, 2 women in bath robes (and with handbags) appearing like that caused some amusement :rotfl:
Right, now I'm back home, I have to sort the devastation that is 2 boys being looked after by daddy for 2 days. I've been to Tesco (fridge was empty) and I'm going to make a saus casserole for tea.
B: Toast
L: coffee and half a box of out of date belgian chocs:eek:
saus casserole and mash and veg (if I have stopped feeling sick
)
Hope you all have a good day and those waiting to move, get there soon. Oh, and :hello: to the newbies too

Took DD (12) to Glasshoughton designer outlet and got her a nice new schoolbag! Bought a book each for two of H's cousins.
Dishwasher is on and our bed is stripped- airing before I put new bedding on it.
Tea will be anything quick like veg pasta (homemade).
Or sausage and mash with gravy!
Hugs to everyone."This site is addictive!"

Well back from holiday in Morrocco. It was fab I didn't want to come home. I got salmonella on the Tuesday so was pretty poorly for 2 days and then still washed out for the rest of the time but the sun was shining and the wind was warm and the pool was cool. It was lovely to spend time with OH and DD3. I did not get moneys worth out of all inclusive though as could have nothing but water for 2 days and only bread and tomatoes for the other two, The last day I did have some rice and some yogurt as well - whoo hoo!!!
Got an absolute bargain - a silk rug really big for £50 - the guy asked me what I wanted to pay - I told him, he said no I was to make a sensible offer so I walked away. He called me back, this went on for 30 mins and in the end he said ok!!!! Most other people were happy to pay £120 - £150 for the same type of carpet. I could not believe it, I was planning on paying £100ish next time I went out there but pushed my luck and hey ho!
Still back home now, wind, wet and still not 100% well. Still can't go through the night without waking to dash to the loo and awful stomach cramps.
Today went to a new class for arts and crafts run by North Somerset LEC. Free sessions in life skills they call it. We made Christmas cards by embossing foil, it was great, feel motivated to do more. We have classes each Monday to 11th December all for free.
Then wrapped some pressies and thought about doing housework.
Not sure what to have for dinner tonight, Spag Bol seems to be a good idea, nice and easy and if I don't want to eat it, it will keep til tomorrow for my lunch.
Nice to be back with all you OSer's.
