£30 would barely have bought you a ditchfinder for a 155/70/13 tyre last year. I paid £88 for a Michelin Energy 185/65/15 last week. The man without a signature.0

I got my tyres online from camskills (i think thats their name) and they were cheaper than any local garage - I paid £65 each tyre for Pereilli 16 inches0

Could have searched around for a cheaper price, didnt have to go with the first price,0

No matter how hard I think I can't recall any car other than my OLD Polo C that I had *mumble* 13-14 years ago where the tyres were only £30 each... that includes my 1979 mini, ford mondeo, nova, mx5, fiasta, series IIa landrover, new mini cooper, VW Passat, Hyundai Coupe or santa Fe... However I found a good local dealer that does Nexuns and they do as good a job as any brand I've come across and as you migth be able to tell I've been through a few cars and we do a lot of miles
Always shop around!

My brother who works as a mechanic got her a price from a local dealer.
The new tyre will cost £85 per tyre. As my brother knows the manager, he can get it for £70. These are not the premium tyres as it's for a simple Ford Galaxy.
I remember that mid last year a new tyre would have cost £30.
For the fuel goes up, then road tax and now tyres, now I here the government wants to run diesels off the road. How long will it be till there's barely any cars running???
Seventy pounds for a Galaxy tyre isn't bad at all, I certainly wouldn't put thirty pound tyres on anything. The greater danger, for most of us, lies not in setting our aim too high and falling short; but in setting our aim too low and achieving our mark0 -
I got a bulge in my tyre wall earlier this year. Pretty sure it was caused by a pot hole. The tyre still had plenty wear so it was a bit galling to have to pay £126 for a new one.0

£30 last year for a Ford Galaxy must have been a part worn, no way even a budget would have been that price, online or not, for this type of car.
£70 sounds pretty good to me, esp with free (I assume) fitting by your brother.
Also, I've never found an online store that can beat several of my local garages for supply and fit so online isn't always best though I guess it depends on tyre size.0 -
Really can never understand why people go for crappy tyres. They will let you down when you need them most...
£30 for a tyre....wouldnt touch with a bargepole.0 -

I would suggest that your mother order her tyres online for fitting, it will be much cheaper than a local garage. I save over £100 last year by getting 2 new tyres ordered online and fitted locally.
Any ideas on what websites to order from???0
