Spent £20.03 on fish suppers etc last night *blush* It was such a lovely day and DH had been working all weekend so we had a bit of a blow-out, took the kids to the park for a few hours then ate our tea sitting beside the sea, lush and worth ever penny!
I've made lentil soup today too, using the floppy veg from the bottom of the fridge and a few sprouting potatoes. The kids have had that and there's plenty left over for tomorrow. I've had stuffed peppers as I had a pack going a bit squidgy, sooooo yummy.
Won't be a NSD today either, need to nip into Ald1 later for diet lemonade and lightbulbs. Shouldn't spend over £2 though so not so bad :-D
Hope everyone is having a lovely day xxxFeeding 2 adults and 5 piglets aged 7 months, 7, 8, 10 & 13. Thank heaven for Aldi!:rotfl:

hi all ,
despite my best efforts to stay in until the shops were closed yesterday , OH dragged me out at 2.30 as he wanted to go to Aldi and get a battery charger/tyre inflation thingy before they all sell out . As we only have Waitrose , Co-Op and Aldi in our town , we went for a look to see if there were any veg bargains in Waitrose as it was an hour from closing .
We walked through the door , just as the nice young man "parked" the reductions trolley right in front of us
It would have been silly not to buy some , but OH got quite carried away and picked up 10 packets of prepped butternut squash (25p each) 6 packs of squash and sweet potato (28p) , bag of 6 organic pears (35p) bag of organic spinach (19p) pack of mixed grapes (25p) organic asparagus (25p) , pot of prepped microveg (19p) , prepped stewing veg (10p) 2 packs green beans (15p)
But I can't really moan at him as most of it is now in the freezer and I just couldn't leave the fresh flowers that were reduced to 50p a bunch or the innocent veg pots reduced to £1 (the only time I ever buy these is when they are reduced as at full price -£3.48 they are a rip off) ...
so now off i go to update my sig :rotfl:Started my own business and loving being my own boss

The innocent pots are half price in Mr T's at the moment (I think about £1.79) with a 50p off next purchase coupon on the packaging ;-) I had the Thai coconut vegetables one yesterday & thought it was gorgeous
The pot is really handy too, I've saved it for freezing portions of soup in!

Still, it's wokern me up a bit, have hardly spent anything since then ,apart from £20 on petrol. Must pay attention!0

Hey guys,
Had a busy saturday, and then a day out sunday.
Saturday i felt like baking, so i had a mini-marathon. I made flapjack (cos it reminds me of school), raspberry cheesecakes and apple and raspberry crumbles (as i had apples and rasps looking a little sorry), banana loaf (3 bananas going a little too mushy), pasties (with lo pork) and a couple of corned beef hashes. All of this went in the freezer (except half of the banana loaf which is AMAZING <drool>).
I then did a bit in the garden, sorted out the herb garden, and mowed the lawns.
Sunday we went out to local country park with a picnic, football and frisbee. It was gorgeous and cost nothing! i must also be mean because i made DS wait until we got home before he could have an icecream as we had made some in the moulds with raspberry milkshake in. cheapskate eh. he loved it though! and the day cost nothing.
Dinner was Creamy Lamb Pancake Bake. It was REALLY nice, and i have never had pancakes as a savoury before so i was a little dubious but it worked very well. I'll post the recipe if there isnt one in the index.
Tea tonight is mini toads in the hole with gravy, mash and peas.DFBX2016 #160 - £3550/£8800

Sounds like everyone had a lovely sunny weekend...but its good to see the rain...the veg and garden need it
Made spag bol today and used the Lady Lesley tip about putting in the oats. It certainly bulked it out and I added a few leftover peas from yest dinner and the kids said it tasted better with the peas:p
Another NSD today thats 3 in a row.. pleased with myself:D

Hi
Just popping in to report some spends. £77.20 in Sain****** and C**p over the last week or so!!!! I am not very pleased with myself and not sure how I've gone so wrong. I've meal planned until payday (got extra money put aside for visitors over Easter), it will just be fruit, veg, cheese, yoghurts etc. Children being on holiday doesn't help the budget, they're always hungry! I think we'll do some baking, maybe some savoury snacks would be a good idea - I'm thinking some mini quiches/ cheese scones. Even though I increased my budget this month I am going to go over, rubbish!! Oh well not the end of the world.
Have a nice evening everyone and thank you for sharing all your tips and recipes.

I haven't posted in a while but I have managed to keep up with all posts, which is pretty amazing.
Sending hugs to all that need them :grouphug:
I'm on an annual budget I have just reviewed my records for January, February & March and the total is £1121.81. I found this very enlightening, even though I record the spends as they happen it was useful looking back over the earlier months. In January OH had a lot of spends for food whilst away working, since then we have been more organised and the only occasions he has bought groceries is to make the best of offers or our time
So far this month I have spent £159.11. Later this week I need to shop for the bits I decided not to get on Friday. Instead I came home to spend time with my family and friends, we lit the pizza oven in the garden and enjoyed the wonderful weather delicious HM cheap food.Fashion on a ration 2025 0/66 coupons spent
