Mr T's really are taking the mickey here! I was in on Tuesday and picked up a bag of the bread flour as we'd run out (having rediscovered the fun in making HM Pizza!) :) At that point the flour was 50p!!! How exactly can they justify a 148% (I think if my maths is right) rise in the price in 4 days.:mad::mad:

If you have a Farmf**ds near you they do 2 Hov*s loaves for between £1 and £1.25 (it's varied a bit lately). :)

iceland do 2 loafs for £1.50 thats the best deal around here, but i used to buy reduced bread and freeze it so it was cheaper, since baking my own tho i've filled that space in my freezer so can't do that now

if your doing the dtd tho it's 50p in asda which means you get £1.48 back on ever bag you buy i got 3 today to keep me going, but i'll be grabbing a few more on monday :D

i spend £19 today in tesco still havent updated my sig from the end of the week so i'll do the whole lot on monday

£5.74 on ice creams. I was wondering if I could put this in the days out budget, but as there is some left in the freezer I put it in the GC. I am a tightfisted mother, making the children wait until we are home from our day trip for cheaper ice cream:rotfl:. There is no day trip cheaper than a homemade picnic on top of a hill fort (no entrance fee!) in the sunshine. Lots of running around, wildflower spotting, buzzard watching and bug hunting! Will need to buy suncream.

Just buy a few on a separate transaction. Then ring it in to Tesco dtd checker as you get a credit and the flour for free basically.
It is for the tescos pink bag 1.5k strong bread flour

Got a whole pack of celery getting limp. Can I just chop and freeze or do I need to blanch/cook first?

Hope everyone is enjoying the hot sunny weather! :j

Although we are skint, have managed to spend loads of money since friday night and not got much to show for it! It's madness the increase in food prices!! Argh!!!

    Well here goes.....

    08/04 - A**i £22.90
    - Sainsbugs £15.20
09/04 - Sainsbugs £4.72 (forgot a few bits on Fri!)
10/04 - Jacksons £7.36 - to be fair did need bread and cheese but then spotted some reduced cake, crisps and then resse peanut butter cups not seen these in ages! and I LOVE THEM!!!

My excuse is I've had 2 very bad weeks at work - if I'd got a couple of months wages saved up I would of walked out on wednesday but I can't because we have hardly any savings to keep us going and due to financial commitments (thanks to a few very bad choices in DH's past) I have to earn over a certain amount to help cover all our bills etc. I really really hate my job and how people are treated there and I'm so dreading having to go back 2morrow. Sorry for the rant ladies & gents x

Hope everyone having a great weekend x
