Can I please be put down for £140 this month, adding a little more as Easter coming up.
I've started already with a spend of £14.90 in Mr M's on Saturday (full bill was £54.90 but £14 was for alcohol, which I don't count in the grocery budget and the rest was for flowers), and £7.46 in Mr A's yesterday, which I'm annoyed about as I only went in there to take something back and get some cheese!Weight loss challenge 2/10lbs

Overall spend of €125 this weekend. DH went to Li*l on Sat to get a cycling t-shirt, and some bits we needed (including getting some beers and some wine). Grocery spend (incl alcohol) was €33 on 2 bags.
Then I went to Superqui*n on Sat evening. We wanted some steak for ourselves and the only nice frying one was fillet (the sirloin and striploin were both very gristly) - but I got the smaller of the 2 so that was €9. I got 6 chicken breasts too, as I had wanted some for during the week and the large pack was good value (will chop 2 into pieces and freeze, and leave 2 whole for freezer). The pork steak was on special so I got a large 1 - will use two thirds tomorrow as a stuffed joint, and freeze the rest chopped. And 12 sausages, of which I froze 10, as DD is gone mad for them recently for dinners. We needed eggs, veg (mushrooms, peppers, carrots), cereal, coffee (for work), and a few other bits.
We had the steak saturday night, with roast potatoes, the last of the vine tomatoes, and the last 3 breakfast flat mushrooms which I had stuffed (I now keep a box of stuffing in the freezer to lob into things like this) and DH put the last of the blue cheese on top too.
Yesterday, we had a freezer meal. Crab cakes which I had made about 3 weeks ago, followed by spaghetti with some tomato sauce from our own tomatoes last summer, frozen prawns, and mussels which we'd cooked and frozen after the last trip to the fishmongers (DH got a HUGE bag of mussels).Tasty!!
Tonight, is a shepherd's pie - the meat mix was already made and frozen a few weeks ago too so I only had to make the mash yesterday. That's in the oven on the timer so should be hot when we get in from this miserable weather.
Tomorrow - stuffed pork, roast potatoes, and HG baby leeks wrapped in Lidl parma ham and covered in cheese sauce (a Tom Doorley recipe).
Wed: Chick fajitas
Thurs: Meatballs and oven chips
Fri: Pasta bakeGC 2010 €6,000/ €5,897

First spend for April yesterday in a's of £12.20.
Got some yoghurts, freezer stuff and some reduced bread. Still need milk today but then should be ok until the weekend.
Nice and sunny here so we are going to spend the day on allotment0 -
I've just updated my total:eek:, it's not my fault, the Family went shopping to treat me for Mother's Day, they spent almost £75:eek:, they have given me cooked breakfast Saturday and Sunday, and a 3 course meal cooked from scratch Saturday night, Roast beef dinner yesterday and wine for me both nights and Lager for OH. I feel totally pampered but I'm going to have a hard job on my hands for the rest of the month now, especially as the kids break up from School on Friday.
On a more positive note my DR delivery came last week so both Freezers are full and cupboards are well stocked so will do some serious meal-planning today for the next couple of weeks.
Dinner tonight is a HM Beef curry using leftovers from last night's Roast.
Just looked over at the Fruit bowls and they are almost empty so I will have to top those up today, can't bear not having enough fresh fruit in the house. Promise that's all I'll be buying.:)
I have noticed several people say DR delivery, and wondered who DR were.BSCno.87The only stupid question is an unasked oneLoving life as a Kernow Hippy0 -

Hi, I'm a newbie and would love to join & give this challenge a try! I'm feeding myself, dh and as my username suggests, 4 wee laddies (5, 7, 9 & 11). At the moment I seem to be spending well over £100 per week so I think my initial budget will be £400
I'm going shopping this morning but have a wee dilemma - I work for a supermarket and have a 10% discount card but am wondering if I would be even cheaper going to A1di? Might do half and half, I begrudge paying the big shops prices for fruit & veg but you don't get much in the way of whoopsies from the budget supermarkets
Any hints and tips would be welcomed with thanks

They are an online butcher with a royal warrant. If you stick to their offers it works out about the same as M&S, only the quality of the meat is FAR superior.
