I've spent £20.75 out of my £100 already - eek!! Foolishly had to buy something warmer to wear on the way to my parents as it was beautifully sunny and warm at home, but a little bit arctic up there...and whilst I was in the supermarket scouring the shelves for YS bargains, I ended up with a bottle of water for the journey, some sesame snaps and some choc :(

Dinner tonight was a tub of veggies from the freezer stretched out with a tin of tomatoes, and it's made enough for dinner for me and DD tonight and tomorrow. What with left over soup for lunch and DD's packed lunch all ready, I'm aiming to leave my purse at home tomorrow (or maybe just take a card for emergencies) and make sure this £20.75 spend doesn't increase!

Haven't spent anything out of my grocery purse over the weekend as have been away. Last shop was some fruit on Thursday, and that came out of the March budget.

Have plenty of most things - shame really, as I'm quite looking forward to having a bit of a shop. (Naughty!)

Will need milk tomorrow actually - just have enough for breakfast. Vegs will last, and will get new organic box the day after tomorrow. Bread (HM) still ok, also cereals, flour, rice and pasta, eggs, cheese, beans, lentils etc etc.

Nearly falling asleep over this - bed is calling! G'night all!
Keeping two cats and myself on a small budget, and enjoying life while we're at it!
  • After a terrible time in march with one thing and another i was unable to total my spends for march and as we didn't have a lot of cash available its possible we didn't do too bad oh well need to keep receipts organised this month
CAN I GO FOR £90 FOR ME AND MY DAUGHTER
We are changing the way we are doing the food shop after an idea by spoon even if we go a bit over say £100 i will be very happy with that we seem to buy too much on shop day and then when we run out its always the items we bought the least of or that just don't seem to get the quantity right so this month we will be keeping a seperate list per person based on the £45 for two weeks then the second two weeks should be much easier i hope
my son will do the same but we are not sure on his cost just yet as we haven't done his list i hope to keep track along with ours i'm guessing maybe £40 with him being food phobic it ups the cost

Hello fizzy702 :hello: Welcome to the grocery challenge! Mrs Mc will be along to add you to the list soon. I know some gc'ers have resorted to bribery to get the oh co-operating :D is there something he would really like to save up for?
... don't throw the string away. You always need string! :D

I've just updated my total:eek:, it's not my fault, the Family went shopping to treat me for Mother's Day, they spent almost £75:eek:, they have given me cooked breakfast Saturday and Sunday, and a 3 course meal cooked from scratch Saturday night, Roast beef dinner yesterday and wine for me both nights and Lager for OH. I feel totally pampered but I'm going to have a hard job on my hands for the rest of the month now, especially as the kids break up from School on Friday.

On a more positive note my DR delivery came last week so both Freezers are full and cupboards are well stocked so will do some serious meal-planning today for the next couple of weeks.

Dinner tonight is a HM Beef curry using leftovers from last night's Roast.

Just looked over at the Fruit bowls and they are almost empty so I will have to top those up today, can't bear not having enough fresh fruit in the house. Promise that's all I'll be buying.:)
