Just looked on the recipe page and can't see chocclare's chinese chicken. Everyone's been raving about it. How is it listed? Hope I'm not being really blind:o

Hello, just in to update my spends! I figure the only way I will be likely to keep my costs down will be to keep totting up as I go! Just had a Mr T delivery of £101.95. This is (hopefully!!) a good stock up and some store cupboard items should last the month and I'll just have to do a few top-up shops of things which we do actually need...!

:mad::mad: buying too much shopping for me to carry comfortably + late public transport + public transport breaking down = change of public transport = stupid person resting their rucksack on my shopping (with my eggs in) = one unhappy flat eric especially when I still managed to forget stuff and had to make another trip. No public transport this time :D OH took me but didn't help at check out ! and raced around the store like a grand prix driver in the making :rotfl:

All the hassle of actually visiting the shop makes me think home grocery shopping is the (permanent) way forward for me - I typically shop before work which means dragging all my bags into the office only to have to faff around later getting them all home and being known as "bag lady" both in the office and by the regular commuters whom I travel with :rotfl:

I don't begrudge the delivery charge - but because Saturday/Sundays are the only days I can have my shopping delivered it means £5.50 / £6 odd for delivery rather than the £3.50 price which is available in the week:(

I'm thinking of having a weekly delivery shop - this means at least four lots of delivery charges a month but I think I will be better off (1) if i plan first and only buy the shopping needed for that week and will avoid the many daily trips I find myself making to the supermarket when I typically want just the one thing but end up buying a dozen or more items and spending quids.

ps does anyone know if economy gastronomy is coming back ?

First post here - guesstimate budget is £400.

Spend is £18.73 weekly on large veg box due tuesdays
Have already done online shop for delivery tomorrow £65.49
Have spent £18 on eating out tonight - do you include that in the total??

I usually meal plan - to a level, but juggle things round a bit in the week.

Now, I've got a voucher for £7.50 off a £50 shop in sainsbos, but its got to be used by the 4th - should I just go and get freezer/storecupboard stuff as I've already sorted this weeks shop - or should I just scratch it as that would have been £42,60 I wouldn't necessarily have spent this month?

These coupons are very very dangerous things. Mr T do the same to me - spend over £50 with us and we will give you 200 extra points. Spend another £50 with us within ? time period, and we will give another 200 extra points oh and do one final shop within ? time period and thats an extra 200 points JUST FOR YOU plus a further 400 points..... now thats all well and good but immediately I'm looking to spend £50 as I do my shopping and I always ensure I go way over the £50 mark so that any offers/discounts applied don't take me under my £50 and thus mean I don't qualify. The supermarkets have us hook line and sinker.

I would be inclined to scrap the voucher because if you have sorted your weekly shop then what exactly do you need ? I went to Mr S tonight and was rewarded with a spend £60 next time and get triple points and I doubt that will get used. £60 is a lot of shopping to buy particularly as my local store is a metro one.

If Mr S have offers that you use for example on loo roll, toiletries etc then yes use the voucher but save room in your freezer for whoopsies and don't forget that £7.50 saved from your pocket also means £42.50 in their coffers. If you don't spend the voucher then that means £42.50 in your pocket !

Can I join this month please? £280 for me, dh, ds x 2 and dd.

I did my first shop last night £51.72. That included a £10 off £50 spend at Mr s. Feeling determined this month as won't need baby formula anymore or nappies as using washables.

    Hi all!!

Please can I be down this month for £275 ? I failed last month but not too much and I thought it was much worse. I still spent much less than I used to before I started this GC, so not too bad.

I am working a lot so I am a bit absent but still doing this.
    :)

Done my weekly shop in Mr M this evening which came to £54.06, got some good offers BUT bought 2 ready meals :o (oh the shame) for me and my son, only because i didnt want to cook when i came back which was about 6.30 and they were cheaper than a takeaway ;).
Also spent £19.35 in mr t yesterday which included some ingrediants for ds cooking at school. So thats it i shouldnt need to spend now till at least Mon when i will prob need bread :)
I will lose 2 stone by this summer!!!!!!
