A$da have the offer of 2 packs of Lurpak with a loaf tin for £2 again. Bought one today when I went shopping with my friend, but it was all that I bought as we went for her shopping and I wasn't supposed to be getting anything.....

These coupons are very very dangerous things. Mr T do the same to me - spend over £50 with us and we will give you 200 extra points. Spend another £50 with us within ? time period, and we will give another 200 extra points oh and do one final shop within ? time period and thats an extra 200 points JUST FOR YOU plus a further 400 points..... now thats all well and good but immediately I'm looking to spend £50 as I do my shopping and I always ensure I go way over the £50 mark so that any offers/discounts applied don't take me under my £50 and thus mean I don't qualify. The supermarkets have us hook line and sinker.

I would be inclined to scrap the voucher because if you have sorted your weekly shop then what exactly do you need ? I went to Mr S tonight and was rewarded with a spend £60 next time and get triple points and I doubt that will get used. £60 is a lot of shopping to buy particularly as my local store is a metro one.

If Mr S have offers that you use for example on loo roll, toiletries etc then yes use the voucher but save room in your freezer for whoopsies and don't forget that £7.50 saved from your pocket also means £42.50 in their coffers. If you don't spend the voucher then that means £42.50 in your pocket !

Oh I TOTALLY emphasize with this! I went to Mr T tonight and had a £2 off a £20 spend voucher. The till racked up at £19.11, so, just so I could use the voucher I picked up some packs of chewing gum to make up the balance! The shame! :o

Total spend was £18.71 in the end
oh - and 55p on a can of Diet Coke today from the corner shop :p

I DID actually have a shopping list, but that depended on me going to the big Mr T. Because I had such a rubbish day at work and finished late I ended up going to the little Mr T. Trying to get decent bargains in a Mr T Metro, then carrying it home, through Piccadilly Circus is NOT something I want to do for a LONG time!!!

Anyway - I did get a pizza to go with some leftover salad which needed using up, but I wasn't hungry enough for it in the end. Dinner tonight ended up being rocket, cherry tomatoes, a couple of rashers of fried bacon and a few pieces of cheddar - with french dressing. Not exactly a healthy salad, but, at least it gets some of my 5 a day! :rotfl:

Did a large shop in Mr T for a change, had a £4 off voucher. Stupidly took dh who by his own admission has an air freshner fettish (suppose could be worse). He got 2 airfreshner that were £10 but bogof and a half price candle that was £3.06. Also got large bag iams for cats for £10 (£5 off) and needed cheese so cathedrel city light was 3 large packs for £4.50. Also spent a fortune on fruit and veg and needed get specific cereal/cereal bars/yoghurts that needed for slimming world. End result was £78.54.
    Yearly Grocery Budget - £100.77/ £3500. January Treats Budget - £11.80 / £100.
  • Updating to £4.61 for April so far - had to get milk and weekly shop not till Monday, and ended up buying huge bag of sultanas, 10 eggs and a tub of stork - guess what me and DS are doing tomorrow?

I'll post on the cheap cake thread too, but is there a cheaper alternative to using stork for cakes please?

I think I must have been having nightmares last night about my shopping trip yesterday ! Must meal plan this weekend (when I have woken up :o)

Out of interest, what is the smallest home shopping bill fellow posters have had and the highest ?

Sometimes, I think I only need a few things but by the time I have gone through by favourites, my bill always seems to top £100

I think my smallest home shopping bill was £80-£90 odd and my highest topped almost £190 :eek::eek:

I know one xmas, I decided to do little hampers for family (mini bottle of wine / chocolates / crackers etc) and the bill reached near on £250 before I abandoned the idea !!

Does anyone have any tips on how to get your home delivery shopping "just right"?

Hi well here is my first shop for April £51.57 not to bad . With regard to money of shops(60.00 what ever) the super makets are trying to get you to part with your money I know I work for one of them. I only use them if i'm doing a big shop that week, because when you use them and go through the till, they then generate anouther coupon for the next week and know I am doing the grocery challange I don't want to spend that amount every week so I just bin them.
