  • Hi

I would like to reclaim my bank charges for the last 6 years. I have banked with the Woolwich during this time however, a year ago they were taken over by Barclays. I was sent a new card and online banking details etc but it lookslike everything was reset when te take over occured.

So, how do I go about claming my bank charges? Will I stil be able to apply to Barclays fr my past 6 years of charges as on paper I have only banked with them for a year. Also will they be liable for charges incurred when I was with the Woolwich?

    Thanks for any advice!
  • Hi,
Can anybody advise/suggest, how I go about claiming charges back from the Woolwich not that they have merged with Barclay's please?
Are Barclay's likely to close my account because of this?

Has anybody does this yet please?

    Thanks in advance.

  • Hi

Im attempting to reclaim £200 worth of charges going back to 2004 from the Woolwich account I had then.

Because Woolwich has now changed to Barclays, am I still able to request this money from Barclays?

The old Woolwich account number that all charges apply to, has now been replaced with a new Barclays account number, so I have quoted both account numbers on my letter to them.

    Thanks.
  • Hello

I was wondering if anyone knew if I can claim back bank charges from the woolwich building society even though they have been taken over by Barclays .... I had a lot of charges with the woolwich which I paid but would love to get the money back as it must be in the region of £2000 (yes!!! like loads of others I got into serious trouble) and it would help to start a new business for me

    Thanks for your time

    Anne

silverdw, I've moved your post into this thread dedicated to Woolwich customers and you'll find the addresses you need in the previous posts.
  • Thanks for moving my post ... the info is very useful on here and I am going to give it a go.
The only thing that worries me is .... will Barclays close my account as I am not sure I will be able to open another one due to bad credit score.

I need some advice here as I need a bank account for cashing cheques primarily and also direct debits etc

Thanks in advance for any help you can give me
  • HI
I am new to this but have decided nows the time to as for my charges back-Hopefully!
My question is that i was a Woolwich customer until last May when they merged with Barclays.
I have contacted Barclays who say they can only give me statments since last May and the Woolwich are saying its not down to them to supply past statments as I am now a Barclays customer?
Can anyone tell me who I am to ask for my Statments as I am getting nowhere at present.

    Many thanks
  • Is it possible to reclaim my bank charges from the woolwich?
As it has now changed to Barclays and thats what all my banking is done under now.
I've filled in the form asking for my 6 years of statements then got to the addressing of the letter and got stuck.
Do i post to woolwich under the clacton address or send it straight to Barclays.
Any help would be great as i have a bee in my bonnet now and i want my money back!
    Many thanks all
Any help would be great as no-one seems to have seen this

    Hi there,
Im just helping my partner out to attempt and claim back her bank charges. Could anyone advise me, as my partners account was with Woolwich and about 2 years ago was taken over by Barclays. Will barclays now be able to give me the woolwich details before they were taken over.
    Thanks for any help

Every month i seem to go overdrawn as i dont have an over draft limit at all and nearly every month i get charged £30 - £90 a month as Barclays will only charge u for the first 3 days u are overdrawn (How considerate), Also if they decide not to pay a DD coz im overdrawn i think they charge me £35 so some months i can be charged in excess of £100, can these charges be claimed back? Im such an idiot when it comes to things like this. This used to be a woolwich account transfered to Barclays!

    Any advice would be nice.
