My charges claim with the Woolwich was due to be settled today. I also decided to wait rather than go through the courts. I phoned last Thursday and there was no information for me, but was told to expect a letter today and if it hadn't arrived to phone again. The letter didn't arrive so I phoned at lunchtime. Apparently a letter was posted to me on Friday and I have had an offer of £3063. As I am happy to accept that (it's 75%), we should be getting in back in the bank in the next 10 days.

    Thank you Woolwich

Thats good news, thank you for the information. The last few days wait is killing me!

I have a question about a Woolwich credit card account before I send off my first ever SAR/s.

I've just got the one account, although there's been four credit cards issued over the years on this one account - the card expired and a new one was sent out and another was withheld by the ATM so a new one was sent out etc. As a result, there are four different 16 digit numbers on my stack of statements, but I don't have a general account no to tie them all together as I would have if it was a debit card for instance.

Do I need to send four SAR letters to Woolwich (one for each credit card number) or will one SAR letter suffice as it's still the same account?

I'm assuming if it's just the one SAR, I'd need to give them all four 16 digit numbers on the same SAR.

    Thank you :)

You will only need to make one SAR paying one fee (if applicable) and listing all account numbers on the one letter. :)

    Hi Twinkly

Thank you for that, I'm very grateful :)

You're welcome and good luck with your claim :)
  • I wrote to the Woolwich and they were fairly quick to reply. Sent my statements and even added up the charges for me at the bottom, £1500 (dont worry..I checked the amount).

So I rang the number on the letter and stated that I wanted my charges repaid to me. The lady on the phone was very helpful and said that the matter was in hand. But then I got a letter telling me it was not going to be getting anything.

Is this due to the recent case where the guy lost against the bank???...has everything changed now?? or am I just being messed around?? and where do I go from here???

I received a letter this morning about a charge for a returned cheque..
They have now upped their standard charge fron £35 admin fee to £45!!!
I don't believe it... I wonder if any other banks will be brave and follow suit. They cannot justify £35. How the hell can they justify upping it to £45!!!

I went to my online banking today and found that the woolwoch had stuck a £35 fee on for a bounced direct debit and I knew nothing about it. So I ranfg and had a friendly maon - the girl said I wasn;t allowed any more refunds as I'd had five returned in the past year and was 'over my limit' I pointed out I had a claim in and was due a reply by this coming friday - she put me on hold then came back and said they would rebate my £35 but it now takes ten days - this used to be instantaneous! I'm hoping that the reason they gave the rebate was because my claim has been passed - £1800, fingers crossed.
