They resent them yesterday and received them today. I have a years worth of statements and from what I can see they have missed some off.. Has anyone else had this happen?
Should I now ask for my full statements and is it still only £10 if I do?0 -
Hi.
I started back in december with this, its now May and Woolwich have just filed a defence.
They offered 1,000 pounds on a 5 grand amount i was claiming, then offered 2, I declined both.
Anyway now they have defended and with interest its over 6k now.
However I am worried about a court date being set too far ahead. I really need this money for July, and also I am worried about this recent win for one of the banks in court.
Do you think it will look week if I e-mail the woolwich and ask to try and settle for 5k plus my 250 court fees? Can you try and agree a figure before a court date?
If so can anyone give me an e-mail address to write to?
Many thanks guys x0 -

Not sure it would be 'weak', but I certainly wouldn't settle for anything less than the full amount.
The court encourages negociations between parties before court, so if it did go further, you could show you did all you could to resolve it.0 -
How can I get the Woolwich to give me my statements for the last 6 year so that I can get a figure to get my bank charges back they want me to pay 5.00 for each month that would add up to 360.00 is this a way of stopping you gettting your money back.

I'm abit annoyed because I'm taking Woolwich to court and it's Barclay's who are defending the case. Rubbish!
hope that helps0 -
Hi,
Don't request statements ask for a list of all charges that have been applied to you account(s). You will get the usual 28 day letter (looking into your complaint) but a list will arrive with a full total. Then write asking for money back. They then give themselves another 28 days. I did this without putting any pressure on them and have just got an offer of £3,682.00 which is 75% of my claim. I am going to be cheeky and ask if they will put it up to 4k, but if they don't I'm going to be happy with what they have offered. I don't think is now the time to end up getting bogged down in the court system. Everyone has to do what they feel is best but 75% is better than nothing when you thought the money was lost forever. After talking to an adviser on the phone the other day it seems that the general rule for high claims is to offer 75%. Good Luck to all claiming.0 -
Claiming £2100 from The Woolwich - received a letter today from them offering me just under £1600 - I must say they have been VERY easy to deal with so far. Started with the SAR letter at the end of March.
Thinking of calling them on Monday to see if I can't squeeze a bit more out of them - don't really want to go to court for the cash if I can help it - purely because - call me soft if you wish - I don't believe I should have paid NOTHING in charges but also because they haven't caused me an ounce of stress during the course of this claim. I'll have to practice my negotiation skills this weekend! Now the (Sh)Abbey - I'll be going all the way with them -NO MERCY!!!!
Hopefully I'll be posting in the "Success" thread soon......:dance:0 -

One very helpful post that I saw was from Edinburghlass who said that prior to going to court, you can't really take the interest into account as this is an amount the court would award. She said if you get offered your full amount (with no interest added) before commencing court proceedings you must accept it. Not sure if this is the case with you but something to bear in mind.
Got to agree with you on the fact that Woolwich are pretty much stress free to deal with. I've also got claims against LTSB and they are a nightmare. Can't believe the difference between 2 banks. Well done the Woolwich!!!
JoBank Charges - MCOL – LTSB Current Account £4,603.92 / Settled £5,680.76 /Financial Ombudsman – LTSB £11,715.84

The £2100 is without interest. I'll be pointing this out to them when I call them - decided if they up the offer to around £1900 I'll take it. They've offered me £500 less than my claim but if they take it to court then they're going to be paying £500 more than the £1900 I'm prepared to accept what with the full claim + £200 interest + £120 court fee.... If they're standing firm at £1600 then I'll file with MCOL.0 -
As the title says, I am reclaiming my bank charges from the Woolwich. So far they have been very good.
Sent a S.A.R - (Subject Access Request) with £10 Postal Order, they replied after about a week stating I would have my requested details by 30th May (5 days before end of 40 days) & also had the POstal Order returned.
Second letter detailing charges received early, by 2 weeks. Not a huge wad of bank statements but a clearly printed list of all default charges applied & totalled at the end
The total came to £6562.00, which is astonishing as I have only been running the account since 2003. My question at present is this; as my bank charges amount is £6562 before any statutory interest (£7440), if it goes along the process and gets to the Court stage, what do I do, as the Small Claims & MCOL is for claims up to £5000, & I don't really want to drop around £1500 just to keep it in the Small Claims courts0
