Woolwich Bank Charges (merged)

load of codswallop. Tell your friend to send their second letter 14 days after the first - to stick to their deadlines and not be swayed by the banks stalling tactics.
First week of april a report is due from the OFT, it won't mean a sausage legally, but may encourage the banks to take things mor eoften to the court steps before settling IN FULL.LegalBeagles0 -
Hi Everyone, I am new posting a thread to this site so please bear with me. I have sent letters to the Woolwich and the Halifax. The Woolwich replied with a list of my charges and I sent them back the reclaim letter with added interest, giving them 14 days as the letter states. They replied today saying that they will reply to me by 13th April, which is well after the 14 days. Should I be issuing a court letter after the 14 days or should I wait until 13th April? I haven't had a reply from the Halifax with my charges yet and their deadline is 26th March. What should I do if 26th March comes and I still haven't heard from them? Hope you are able to help. Tricey0

Hi there
Asked this question myself and advice was stick to your timescale, i.e. send LBA when 14 days are up in both cases0 -
Hi Cloth Ears, Thank you very much for your reply - it's nice to know that there is someone to help!! Forgive my ignorance but what is an LBA? A very

Hi Tricey
use martin's template on main site for your letter before action.0 -
Hi Nickmack and Cloth Ears, thank you for your replies. I will follow your advice and let you know how I get on. Tricey :T0

Hi Tricey and welcome to the merry band of Woolwich warriors!
As Nickmack and Cloth Ears say, follow Martin's templates and above all stick to the deadlines. There are so many success stories on this site and the majority have done it this way. I await your progress with intrest.
P.S. I go to MCOL on Tuesday!

hi, i am also chasing bank charges from woolwich and received one of the same letters as Tricie & Chatlunatique 2 weeks ago. Decided to wait and see, and on the day before my 4 week 'deadline' set out in my letter to them, I received a 'goodwill' offer of almost half my claim (offer of £1000 on £2300) - now have to decide whether to continue - will probably accept this as part payment.
i found Woolwich (or Barclays who own them) to be very quick.
so my advice stick with your original dates - even though the letter says to expect a reply in 4 weeks, it seems they are well aware of your dates for action.
hope that helpshad enough of :wall:
gonna sort my life out :j0 -
Thanks GBS.
How much was your claim for?:beer:0
