Bumping because I'd love to know the answer to the question above! I've bought a plastic pudding basin which is suitable for the microwave, would love to know if anyone has experience of cooking christmas pudding in the microwave and what I need to watch out for.0

I have just come across this thread and my hubby isn't going to be very happy. I have two versions of this wonderful book but they are both in the loft in a box guess he will be going up there to find them for me. I don't do a lot of baking as I am constantly on a diet but I feel a baking session coming along soon.
Now all I need to do is remember the title and author of a learn to cook book that was my bible which I bought when at school in the late 70's and fell to pieces then I could search for it on the internet (a thick A5 sized paperback with a yellow cover is all I can remember lol).
I think the book you mean is Cookery Made Simple by Margot Burbidge. We had the same book at school (1965-70) and my Mum bought me a copy of it when I left home (price on the back says 90p!). I use it sooooo much and it is literally falling apart now. I suppose some information is quite dated but the basics of cookery don't change. Unfortunately, it doesn't look as though it is in print any more, what a shame, I could do with a fresh copy.:(0 -

They usually quote 28 days for delivery - and it often takes the whole 28 days!
With holiday breaks over Christmas and the New Year they may be a bit behind. Even so, it's been a while for you. You might be able to check your order status by contacting them via the details the give on their about us page.Hi, I'm a Board Guide on the Old Style and the Consumer Rights boards which means I'm a volunteer to help the boards run smoothly and can move and merge posts there. Hello there, the thread is quite old, is it the Bero Books you are wanting ie 15 of them. I believe they sell them in Morrisons, have a look there first but in my Bero Book there is a note in the back saying send £1.50 which I presume includes postage to
The Bero Kitchen
PO Box 100
Blackburn
Lancs
BB0 1GR
Perhaps look up the telephone number, it may be less if you are ordering so many (ie postage) but still worth every penny of £1.50
Good luckmake the most of it, we are only here for the weekend.
and we will never, ever return.0 -
You used to be able to get them on ebay a bit cheaper, about 99p?0
