I love my Be-Ro book and it is the only one I use regulaly use. I have had a book since 1982 when I got my 1st home but I lost it when I moved 4 yrs ago' so now have the new edition but it does not have the nutty flapjack recipe, one of my older 2 DS's fav's but after a lot of serching I know have the recipe and I can make them again :D.

My fav recipe in the book (well the one I use the most ) is the banana tea loaf as we always have left over banana's (my fussy 2 dont eat them when the skin goes spotty or brown).

My mum brought my younger DS and DD a book each to have when they are older :D
Getting myself sorted 1 day/1thing at a time :) and Love sewing :)

i know it wasn't technically moneysaving as it was 50p extra, bu factor in the envelope, cheque, cost of stamp, waiting time - instead I had mine within two days :D
A little nonsense now and then is relished by the wisest men

19th sounds pretty old to me!

So... does anybody have an older copy?

I've got a 16th edition! (and a 20th, and I gave one away the other day, but no idea what edition that was, should have checked!) I think someone else here had a 16th.

Just came across this thread while trying to find out how old it was! Not that I have *any* intention of selling either of them (both found in charity shops for 10p:rotfl:), I love them too much! Just made the sponge sandwich cake today - just 2 eggs, 3oz flour, 3 oz sugar - a little dry but good with jam or custard! :rotfl: And not bad for a cake with no butter in!

try putting a little water into the mixture - about a desert spoonful.

I don't know how old my older edition is because the front cover is lost, but it's the one my mum taught me to bake from in the 60's.

ETA...it's the one pictured below. I remember the cover. Anyone know what edition thisis?

Ibook2.gift really is one of the best books out there, and totally reliable. :)

Have a look on ebay - lots of different editions for sale - you will probably see one like yours ! Some of the older rarer editions fetch quite alot of money !

For anybody looking for some Bero recipes - there are quite a lot on here: http://www.be-ro.com/f_insp.htm

Not quite the same thing has having your own Bero Book (no nostalgia about a website) BUT better than nothing :).

    Hi dorisday,

Have you had a look to see if the recipe is on the Be-ro website?
