Hi mishka:
Martin's diplomatic post notwithstanding elsewhere on this board, Lovefilm is clearly reneging left, right and centre on customer contracts.
It knows full well it would never have actioned a single customer account under the terms & conditions of the £15 Boots voucher offer had not the required minimum of DVD choices been made. And it would never have despatched a single DVD to any account holder for the same reason.
If you feel you've now given Lovefilm more than sufficient opportunity to abide by its original commitment to you, then simply follow Deano's advice / experience and also that of redballoon, doodah and purple (among others) --
Given up on Lovefilm so just rang Boots and they put me through to a Senior Advisor- she took my address straight away and said she'd send me out my vouchers from there!
She said there had been a number of people who had signed up and, because they cancelled, haven't got the vouchers because they've cancelled before a certain time and "it doesn't state this is in the terms and conditions". Something to that effect.
So she knew without much explanation from me what the situation was. I only hope that Boots' big managers who come up with these schemes actually listen to their frontline staff about the amount of complaints they must have had about this and don't run a similar scheme with Lovefilm again.
It's such a relief to talk to a human being (apart from MSErs obviously!) who has actually made an effort to help. THAT is the type of customer service we all should have had from the beginning.
At this point, if you're waiting for your vouchers, I would suggest ringing Boots (0115 918 2000), they were really helpful.
The above is purple's post (thanks again, purple :T )
As to feeling sorry for Boots, that's fair enough. But I suspect that the more calls Boots receives about Lovefilm's behaviour, the more calls Lovefilm will in turn be receiving from Boots' management.
And Lovefilm will be infinitely more troubled by aggro from the commercial "partners" it so obviously needs to woo than by any complaint from anyone at MSE. . .0 -
I feel sorry for Boots too for soaking up some of the cost of Lovefilm's incompetency, I hope they're putting some pressure on them. I just get the impression that lovefilm is some ramshackle gang of poorly trained and even more poorly informed "customer service" assistants that are never gonna sort themselves out. I'm sure the senior staff at Boots have a better chance of getting through to senior staff at Lovefilm but it's still so frustrating!
Why should I get a letter of apology from Boots when it's Lovefilm's fault and all I get from them, if I'm lucky, is a couple of lines in an email, just to fob me off? I received a letter from Boots the very day after I rang them (with a voucher attached-hallelujah!) that says:
"While your shopping experience is primarily with Boots we are working very closely with Lovefilm who are specialists (pah!:rotfl: )in this service, so it's naturally concerning for us to hear of a problem. Please be assured that I have passed your comments on to our specialist sites team for them to look into at the next review.
I have also passed full comments onto Lovefilm so they can provide a better service to our customers in the future"
Codger: Are you going to/have you contacted Boots to chase your voucher?0 -
Has everyone seen Martin's recent post on what to do if you didn't get your voucher?

I recently had the problem that everyone else is having. Lovefilms came up with the excuse that i wouldn't get the vouchers because i didn't become a paying customer. I emailed them the terms and conditions and then had a reply saying vouchers would be two weeks. They turned up this morning. I had also emailed Boots who are very aware of all the problems.0

i called lovefilm to cancel. 28days after i joined for the free trail (date the voucher should have arrived.)
they said to wait a week. so i decided to email boots. Email boots. they have a name to protect and are very good and keeping customers happy. just give them the basic information and tell them you are not happy with love films customer serivice (if that is the case.)
good luck.0 -

Oh, rats to doodah. Not fair. My voucher still hasn't arrived. But I'm allowing 10 working days -- should've said, 10 malfunctioning days, where Lovefilm is concerned.
Purple: yup, I will be contacting Boots if nothing arrives, life's too short to get involved in a chain of emails with Lovefilm's Department of Concern. Or whatever they're calling it.
You ought to get hero status, incidentally: whatever you said to Boots, the statement you received from them shows you certainly touched a corporate nerve.0 -
just email boots now. they will contact love film and have your voucher in the post before you know it. don't wait for love film..... is my advice.0
