  • They've charged me £12.99 and i've only had 3 dvds.
And its only been about 5 days into the trial.
i sent them an email and they told me i wasnt entitled to a free trial!

no reply from them about my refund!
So i dont think ill be getting a voucher!
2nd money savings thing ive done thats gone wrong..
    wahey! :(
do not stand for that, complain further !!
get your money back its only been 5 days !!
have you ever been with them before if not demand you money back, as it states for those who register not those who re-activate their account

  • ...but if as a few people said its best to get proof of posting with lovefilm every time I send a film back it really defeats the object if I queque for 10 minutes every time I send one back.I would love to join another one but lovefilm seems to have taken over them all and they dont seem to be good at the moment.

Hi, I have read through about four pages of this thread and cannot find anything about this. I know that when you cancel your account with any service they suggest you get a proof of postage so that if it goes missing you can prove it was sent. Does it say somewhere that you have to do this each time you send back a DVD? I really hope not, as I cannot do that and I have just signed up to their 3 months for the price of 1 deal....I would consider cancelling now if I knew there was a possibility of that being the case.

I must say, they are rubbish so far. The people who reply to emails seem to be unable to read the email and reply properly. It's like they are just writing any old response, whether relevant to the questions asked or not!

I am considering complaining to the company in writing as so far, the service is not good enough for a company this big.

Nobody's saying, least of all Lovefilm, that you must pay for Recorded Delivery every time you return a DVD. Lovefilm provides a pre-paid 1st Class return mailer.

What some of us have noticed on threads elsewhere are reports of problems with returned DVDs that get lost in the post or aren't received by Lovefilm until after trial periods have expired.

Lovefilm charges £20 for a lost DVD.

I'm not risking £20 each time when Signed For costs 68p. Then again, I'm packing in renting DVDs by post because 68p a time + inconvenience of Post Office queuing is too much hassle. I know you can get Proof of Posting without paying the 68p, incidentally. It's just that PoP may not be accepted by a DVD rental company without further aggro.

Bearing in mind nobody seems to have much love lost for this company or its trading practices an added security measure might be to tick the "faulty disc" box on the envelope - that might discourage any dishonest postal worker from nicking them! ;)

Bearing in mind most of these DVD seem to be scruffy old tat anyway, that wouldn't be far from the mark really.

If you are putting it just in the post, also try and ensure it goes in the week - it's usually at the weekends when agency staff are used more that Mail stuff seems more likely to go "missing."

Thanks, yes I know this. The post that I quoted made it sound as though a proof of postage had to be obtained every time a DVD was sent back, not just when a free trial was being used. I was worried that Lovefilm wouldn't even accept a proof of postage if a DVD goes missing when signed up normally. If this is not the case then that is good.

    Thanks.
