Free £15 Boots voucher and Lovefilm DVD rental trial
Comments

I signed up for this promotion hoping to get the boots vouchers and see a few good films for free. However, my trial was due to expire on December 4th,when i am then due to pay the monthly subscription. I only received dvds yesterday(30th Nov) after waiting nearly three weeks. This is an appalling service. I have now cancelled my subscription and will be posting the dvds back today without watching them as I fear if i wait any longer i'll be charged.
I get the impression that either Love film.com have taken on more that they can chew, or else (and i dont wish to be cynical!) they have waited this long in order to get at least one months subscription out of me.
Needless to say, i'm left with no boots vouchers and no dvds.
I would advise anyone thinking of signing up, not to bother!! More hassle that it's worth.0 -
I was so worried about the trouble everyone had with Lovefilm that I have cancelled after receiving the 1st dvd. They were actually very helpful and only asked why I wanted to cancel - I told them it was because I had heard their company had a bad reputation! The guy was helpful and said to send my next dvd (which had already been dispatched) back with proof of posting and that my account would automatically be cancelled once this was received. I also told him to put a note on my acount to say I had closed my bank account.
Hopefully it will be cancelled.......0 -
Mine's the same timetable to hambrook's, viz:
First payment date: December 20, 2006 (earlier if 7th disc rental is before this date)
Subscription package: DVD - 1 Disc - £9.99/month
First DVD arrived today; we look forward to watching it tonight.
Mrs C's not too happy about signing up for something with the intention of cancelling but the truth is, I signed up because the free trial looked OK and the Boots voucher was going to pay for a further six weeks' rental hire.
Unfortunately, the issue isn't about cancellation or renewal but consumer trust. And after reading this latest post on that topic -- from wench -- it's clear that for one reason or another, Lovefilms too often and too obviously behaves in such a way as to undermine that trust.
A pity.
* brindles' info is great; definitely worth using if an email cancellation fails to work.0 -
hiya,
I have created my rental list.I don't see any button thats says:
"click here to receive your DVD"
I take it that I just wait and they send me a DVD?
The site is not very intuitive.
cheers,

Hi everyone,
I have signed up for this deal.
A DVD arrived today.
My husband gave me a 'look'!
I really hope this works out.
How does one return the DVD and does it cost anything?
Can you tell I'm a newbie?

Signed up on Thursday night and have now been told that my first DVD is in the post. I only signed up for the basic package because they cannot sent you more than one DVD at a time
as soon as it arrives I will send it back and cancel.
Has anyone received their voucher yet?0 -

Yes, I'm not sure how much exactly (at a guess I'd say 100) but some points have been added to my card.0
