What do we do when we fall? We get up, dust ourselves off and start walking in the right direction again. Perhaps when we fall, it is easy to forget there are people along the way who help us stand and walk with us as we get back on track.

SOS - Yes, we sound very similar with regards to the wine. I can, quite honestly, go weeks without it and will then have a stretch of anything between 3 and 7 days of drinking. Complete and utter definition of binge drinking I suppose:o. I don't know if its a pressure valve for me or just a little switch inside me that switches on. I just know I don't like it. This weekend I feel I wasted a whole weekend with my OH and Piglet.:(

I'm different. With me, if I don't keep an eye on my drinking, then I can drink 4 units every night and before I know it I've drunk 28 units in a week - twice the recommended limit!!! But I rarely drink more than 6 units. I actually don't like the feeling of being drunk, but drinking evey night can lead to, amongst other things, higher blood pressure and too many calories!!!!

Thinking about it though, I do drink when I'm really scared. When my Mum was terminally ill I was really scared and I drank too much to compensate. Scary. :(

    Good morning all

    9 for me please Shaggy

Darwins_mum - good luck with your day at work. Isn't it great to be approaching it with a clear head??:T

Happyshopper - well done on the win!:T

Feeling bit grumpy here this morning. Not entirely sure why (may have something to do with just discovering OH tried to "clean" kitchen table with a scouring pad last night :mad:). He's not my favourite person right now.:(

Me and Piglet are off out with my Mum this morning for a wander round some shops and then she's treating us to a McDonalds.:) Looking forward to it as feeling bit down and in need of a nice relaxing morning.

    Miss

Morning All. 1 more AF for me, so 4 school nights (does the school nights include Sunday?) and 5 for April please!

I am a drip drip drinker, usually 2 glasses a night but quite regularly :o. My issue is it contributes to a tendency to depression. Although not 'hungover' I am grumpy, out of sorts and 'what it the point in making an effort' the next day. I personally don't like drinking in public, its a self-conscious thing. But toooo happy to drink at home. Unfortunately with no horror stories it is easy for me not to address this problem. I need to keep reminding myself that drink doesn't suit me.

    Good luck to everyone!

Morning all, I should have joined the Sun to Wed club but resisted because I like to treat myself when watching Masterchef. FOOL !!! Being a greedyguts I couldn't stop at a couple.... need I say more.... plus ended up eating half a carton of Ben & Jerry's watching the 10 Oclock News.

On top of which, as part of my self help therapy I've joined a Book Club (my reading habits were usually 4 pages in bed, quickly forgotten next morning) and I'm on a deadline in 2 weeks to read a new book, aarrgg! It can be done.... it can be done....

  • Hi All,
No AFD to report here I'm afraid - fell off the wagon last night :o
Not massively - one small glass of red, but now very cross with myself  as I have failed the schoolnights challenge, and blaming MasterChef whilst knowing all the same that it's my fault and I really can't blame John and Greg! Just where did I leave my willpower?!!!

A miffed off with herself TooMany :(

    Morning everyone!

Feeling well enough to work today so thats good news. Had an early night and got up with DH this morning - don't know how long I'm going to be doing that for. I'm looking for leaflets for children of parents that have epilepsy. Might be useful for my kids to have a look at it.

    5 days abstinent :T

    Hugs to all, back later.

9 AF fo April please Shaggy, and 1 more for the challenge please Bearacus.

I'm an all or nothing type of drinker. I'm fine at the moment not having any, even though there's plenty of drink in the house. But if I do have a drink, I can't seem to just stop at one or two. I always end up going the whole hog, and get absolutely plastered.
