    Morning everyone!

Up early with DH to avoid nodding off and fitting with only the kids here. A family member rang last night and talked about the planned get together over Easter. I said that I wouldn't be drinking and was asked if it was because I had my seizure, I said that it had shaken me up and I realise it's a risk factor. I was then reminded that I've been holding my drink for the last 7yrs and how they feel it's unlikely that alcohol triggered my seizure. I said that it was a risk factor and for all I know I might have just been blooming lucky on that front for 7yrs, one fit is one too many, why would I do anything to risk it? They made me feel like I'd lost my mind!

DM - Enjoy your night with your friend. How lovely it will be to enjoy a night that you will remember in full the next day without the crashing headache and lethargy that comes with it.

    Day 6 for me.

I'm going to create my own little affirmation of the day everyday as a reminder to me....

So, I will not drink today because......it's Saturday tomorrow and I would like to enjoy the full day and not ruin the start of it with a headache! Feel free to post one or use mine if it helps!

    Have a good day all,

    Lala x

    Morning :hello:

1 more AFD for me Bearacus. I also had a slightly stressful day but avoided the temptation to take the edge of the day with a drink.

What do we do when we fall? We get up, dust ourselves off and start walking in the right direction again. Perhaps when we fall, it is easy to forget there are people along the way who help us stand and walk with us as we get back on track.

I am a drip drip drinker, usually 2 glasses a night but quite regularly :o. My issue is it contributes to a tendency to depression. Although not 'hungover' I am grumpy, out of sorts and 'what it the point in making an effort' the next day.

That's me too (if I'm not careful) - death by a thousand cuts :o

6 AFD for me please Shaggy. No more for the school night though as I checked my diary and I did drink Sunday :o.

I think you are doing amazingly Lala :T. Don't let family members undermine you. Some people find change frightening/unsettling. The mantra I am using in the evenings at the moment is "Whats so great about drinking anyway?" Questioning what the draw is.

Well we have an old friend coming for the night later. So there will be a trip to the supermarket to pick up wine or whatever. I am intending to request a bottle of something non-alcoholic. This will be interesting .

Thanks Chloris :A, great question too. I can't think of a single occasion when Alcohol solved a problem for me.

I've tried a non-alcoholic wine called "Fre" in the past, didn't really enjoy it though, it tasted far to sweet for me. I can recommend Becks Blue lager though. Tastes exactly the same but without the squiffy feelings you get from "real" beer!!!
