The Giving up/ Cutting down Alcohol support thread- number 10

hi Rachel
Ah thanks for the advice, I do know what you mean about trying to do everything at once. I'll tackle the smoking on Monday, be vigilent on the alcohol consumption and be kind to myself with the food side, but will stock up with lots of fruit and ff yogurts for the cravings. I even have stuff in for a SW Strawberry Cheesecake so that would be good to munch on.
I do feel much better since the big cut down on drinking and an finding the SW diet (going to first class tonight, just to get the books) is not that bad. I seem to be so full after the main meals that don't think about snacking, whereas before I would have the cheese and buscuts out by 9.30 while watching the TV, not good.0 -
Rossie cheeks-No failures on my challenge
The hardest challenge is to not to be so hard on yourself!
Just to reiterate to everyone that the School day challenge is just for support and motivation and I found it really useful when pen did them!
But I dont want people to feel they have let themselves down if they don't stick to their pledges:(
WE ARE ALL IN THIS TOGETHER x

Afternoon all
Bells ringing loud and clear here!!:(
Lala - you're comment about refilling your glass halfway through really struck a chord with me! I do this all the time. Could be why I get through a whole bottle whilst OH thinks I'm on my first glass!!
Think my bells are ringing here as OH off work tomorrow so feels a bit like a Friday night. Going to distract myself with cleaning kitchen again in a bit. You know, before I had Piglet, I never really appreciated how tidy and clean my house was. Now its NEVER clean or tidy!

Had a very shaky evening, would have loved a drink but determined not to! This is unusual for me now on a week night but was feeling a bit stressed and old habits die hard as a way of relaxing.
I'm away from tomorrow until Tuesday night so won't be clocking up any more AF days until Wednesday.
That's all 4 done for the School Night Challenge Bearcus
and
8AF for April, please Shaggy.0 -
Evening all, a bit of a stressful day today, normally I would have come home and poured a few large ones. Instead I had a few interesting chats and watched an inspirational speaker on Youtube - Wayne Dyer - checkout the clip called "excuses be gone". He makes reference to an interesting affirmation which resonated with me "when you correct your mind, everything else falls into place". I am working on correcting my mind.
Tomorrow will be my 7th day sober. My friend rang me earlier to say that she will pop round with a her friday night bottle of wine and suggested that I have some non alcoholic wine. I dont actually like the taste of wine, so water or green tea will do me fine! (ooh, I feel a little rhyming couplet coming on)
Well done to all for facing your challenges head on
stay well
