Sorry not been in, been a manic week at work and school.
Doing ok. Had a wobble at the weekend but OH stopped me before I went too far. He's been a star.
Not been going to AA meetings (seriously, not got the guts!), but phoning the helpline. They say this is fine (and the people on there are brilliant).
I hope no-one minds me not popping in every day but I'm finding it easier if I don't THINK about it (or type about it, if you know what I mean!!)

No worries at all. Do what's best for you.
I've just calculated that we're about £250/ month better off via my not drinking. What the f?
So that's been a good 54 days (20 for this month please shaggy) in a row - determined to make it 55 today. Can we just take it as read I didn't mean to offend you?0 -
Morning :hello:
I heard the bells last night. In the end I resisted as I couldn't face been even the slightest bit sluggish this morningand I just couldn't bring myself to part with the dosh
and I didn't want the calories :rotfl: So it seems I have plenty of reasons not to drink.
So 1 more AFD for me Bearacus.

Congrats! Proud of you.Can we just take it as read I didn't mean to offend you?0 -
Hi - I'm new too though I've popped in for a "lurk" every now and then. I drink every day - usually 2 (sometimes 3) glasses of wine around tea time and its becoming a real craving and starting earlier and earlier. My OH won't talk to me about cutting down - he's a heavy drinker and thinks I'm either being ridiculous 'cos of how little he thinks I drink or that I'm only talking about it as a way of getting at him.
I don't think I want to give up completely but I'd like not to drink every day and I'd like to get rid of the craving - is that what you guys call the bells? - and mostly I'd like someone to talk to.0 -

Gardenanna, it was the daily 'it's wine o'clock'reminder craving tvat got me to really observe my drinking pattern. And like you've found it got earlier and earlier to th pint that I'd be thinking about having a glass before the kids were even home. Don't worry too much about what your DH thinks, focus on yourself and what you can do. I found it easier to stop completely for a few days to kind of reset the clock IYSWIM.
Good luck.
Another AF day here so 18 in total I think.Trying to keep in budget.

Hi Gardenanna
I could have written this, except I drink (used to?) much more than you. My other half is probably an alcoholic, I don't think I am but I recognize that I'm on the slippery slope. I'm not for a moment suggesting that is your situation just that your post struck a chord with me. I am new too and I think we may both find support here.

It was surprisingly good; I put my jammies on and the bellls if not dispelled were muted. As I fight a continuing battle against my expanding hips and rear I may stick with the low calorie option.0 -
21 please!! I get another little smiley thing!
