    Morning :hello:

I did end up drinking last night as bf brought around a bottle of wine. I had about 4 units :)

I think the 3rd paragraph has the recommended units wrong (!) but they are right later on in the article.

What do we do when we fall? We get up, dust ourselves off and start walking in the right direction again. Perhaps when we fall, it is easy to forget there are people along the way who help us stand and walk with us as we get back on track.

    18 for me please, Shaggy

:jI had no wine last night :j
Feel GREAT today and SO PLEASED with myself :j
Knowing I would be able to post this message today really helped me to motivate myself ;)

I felt so dreadful last Sunday and the previous Sunday, panic attacks, headache, tired, due to giving in on the Saturday nights.

So, lots of things planned today, loads of energy, not on automatic pilot ... :T:T

    Happy Sunday everybody
  • Well I had a stupid amount to drink yesterday :(. The day started ok; I went to my exercise class and came out feeling really good "my body is a temple" sort of mood and I was quite determined that I wasn't going to drink that day. I went shopping with my OH and as it was a nice day he suggested that we go to a pub with a garden and have a drink. We don't spend much time together so I said yes and stuck to a couple of halves of lager; he didn't drink much either as he was driving, so far not too bad. When we got home we both had a can of beer; still not too bad and my intention was to stop there for the day. Then in the early evening we had a row and that was it! I opened the first bottle about 6pm to be followed by its brother and a couple of large scotches (no food). He drank at least as much sitting in another room; both of us sitting alone getting off our heads.
I felt relatively ok this morning which in itself is worrying, my capacity for alcohol must be far higher than normal. :o
My intention is to not drink today but I'm not going to declare yet just in case.

Can we just take it as read I didn't mean to offend you?

    Hi

Welcome cheezypeas and gardenanna :hello: it's good to have you with us....good luck on your AF journeys x
Well done everyone who managed to be AF over the weekend.....I'm rubbish and just don't seem to be able to do it :o. Pricey your post is so inspiring...I long for the day when I feel :j on a Sunday :o

Caramelcaron - hope you're managing to resist the bells tonight.
flimsier - well done on 57 days :T that's brilliant!! Are you working to a goal or just taking it one day at a time?

Once again I wasn't AF at the weekend but I do seem to be drinking less on Fri and Sat than I have in the past (but still way above the recommended daily units :o)

Well another week is about to start and I'm AF tonight putting me on 14 please shaggy. Bearacus can you put me down for the full monty this week please

Good luck to you all for an AF week ahead x

  • It was horrible; I don't know why I do it to myself. I really don't want to have to give up drinking altogether because I think having a couple of drinks in a social situation is a very pleasant and harmless diversion. I worry though that my relationship with alcohol is neither pleasant nor harmless. I am indeed joining you on the wagon today and tomorrow.
I haven't, and won't now, have a drink today so Shaggy I'm declaring 4 now.
Bearacus could you put me down for 3 in the SNC please? My DSD1 has a birthday on Tuesday and we are having a family meal so I know I won't be AF.
  • Thanks for all the kind welcomes, since I finally stopped just "lurking"......unfortunately I have since spectacularly fallen off the wagon and had a bottle and a half of wine on both Thursday and Friday nights !!!! So much for my steely determination
What is it about an open bottle of wine, that must be finished ???? And a second started !!

Anyway, felt very anxious on Saturday, which before reading posts on this forum, I would never have put down to the booze. Now it explains a lot about how I feel after drinking (and of course how much better I am, when I don't).

Have got back on track now, and abstained both last night and tonight, so 2 AFD please Shaggy.......
Here's to a good week, though with the children at home for half term, it'll take some doing !!!

That's what I'm working on and, with the help of this great thread, I've almost acheived it.

I've got visitors arriving tomorrow, we'll have wine with dinner and then off to France for a few days on Tuesday. I'll be drinking there too but long gone are the days when I had to have a bottle in my hotel room before I'd even ventured out. I'm in control now.

I'm saying this to give hope that it can be done in time. I so empathise with the need to finish a bottle and open another cheezypeas. I still drink more than I should at weekends but I try to balance it off with AF days. That's where the SNC is so helpful.

    Have a good week everyone.
