EVERYONE WELCOMEWhat do we do when we fall? We get up, dust ourselves off and start walking in the right direction again. Perhaps when we fall, it is easy to forget there are people along the way who help us stand and walk with us as we get back on track.0 -
Morning!!!
Thanks for all the nice comments. I just felt that all I ever did was rant and things weren't getting any better
caramelcaron - Welcome and well done for taking the step from lurker to poster!!
Rachelww - I did have a chuckle at the wheelbarrow. I'd be mortified if that happened to me
Well after finishing the weekend feeling particularly resentful I though I'd make an effort to keep a running total of this weeks intake. As it stands at the moment we are at 6 1/2 bottles of wine and 5 bottles of Bud. Monday morning I'll have an accurate view of just what a "normal" week is and be able to have an estimate on how much it costs.
On a happier note I won £2.50 on the lottery on monday (the plus 5) and I have been invited to an interview at Asda for some part-time work :j. It's only a temp vacancy but I'm hoping they will keep me on after christmas (if i get it of course) which would mean I wouldn't have to go back to my other job in Bristol.
Have a nice Thursday all!!

Hmmm
No increase for me on AFs or SNC as caved in last night. No real reason (well have ton of excuses but that's what they are!), just went for it.
Well done everyone else on steadfast AFness :AGetting there...slowly!
GC : must do better
NSD: very rare
No matter how slow I go I am lapping everyone on the couch.0 -
Happy Days!
Are you a caramel freak? - my OH is caramel mad lol.
Morning Shaggy
No I'm not a caramel freak; it's a bit embarrassing really; I'm mixed race and my darling mum used to call me her caramel baby:o
Thanks for the tip about hot chocolate, as the weather is getting colder I may well buy myself a tin.0 -
Hi All - can I join you please ? This forum might be just what I need to get AF....
I had a realisation recently, that as I turned 40, I had probably been drinking steadily for almost 25 years, certainly with very few AFDs in the last 20 (stopped during 2 pregnancies and thats about it !!)
No wonder I can't remember much........
So I have made a concerted effort this month and have steely determination to carry it on. But I might need some help......
Can I start counting from last weekend ? I drank on Friday night, but have had nothing since. I reckon I will drink one night this weekend and one next weekend, so can someone do the maths for me ?
Be great to get support and offer support to people who want the same thing.........0 -

Afternoon all!
Sorry not been in, been a manic week at work and school.
Doing ok. Had a wobble at the weekend but OH stopped me before I went too far. He's been a star.
Not been going to AA meetings (seriously, not got the guts!), but phoning the helpline. They say this is fine (and the people on there are brilliant).
I hope no-one minds me not popping in every day but I'm finding it easier if I don't THINK about it (or type about it, if you know what I mean!!)
Miss P

Hi cheezypeas welcome, I'm new too and I can certainly relate to your post. Before I started on this mission (on Tuesday) I couldn't remember the last day I hadn't had any alcohol. I think it might have been about mid- June when I had a bad stomach upset but I can't be sure.
Already you are doing so well if you haven't had a drink since last Friday. I can't imagine (yet) going seven days without alcohol; I'm already looking forward to having a drink tomorrow evening.
