welcome Caramelcaron, and well done on not smoking any more - already that's a great acheviement (hardest thing I ever did was giving up smoking).

I had another AF night last night - it really is becoming the norm in my house at the moment, and I do feel good for it.
    Trying to keep in budget.

  • Thank you for the welcome gien. I gave up smoking quite a while ago now but yes it was hard; although I gave up because my mother died from a smoking related illness and now I'm very anti; I find it difficult to be in the same room as someone smoking (they say ex smokers are the worst!)
Well it's gone 8.50 and I haven't had a drink, so far so good. I had two big mugs of tea when I got in from work which was a novel experience, I normally pour my first glass almost before I've put my things down. My OH worked from home today so he was already half cut and thought it was very odd!
  • Thank you bearacus; I certainly hope to be a 'cutter down' it would be nice to be able to have a drink when I felt like it but not HAVE to finish the bottle :o. It sounds as though you are doing really well.

    Hello, I'm new.
I drink far too much and I want to cut down. I have been a 'lurker' on this thread for some time but have decided that I really should be part of it.
It used to be (years ago) that I could have a couple of glasses of wine occasionally (or more than a couple on special occasions) and I never ever drank by myself; drinking was very much a social activity. Now I sit every evening on my own and polish off at least a bottle of wine; my partner does exactly the same in another room (he smokes, I no longer do and I find it revolting). It is a situation that can't go on; I can't do anything about his drink problem but I can try to do something about my own.
So.. I would like to be part of the SNC please, 3 days; I will not drink today, Wednesday or Thursday.

Welcome. That sounds like a really tough situation to me. Sympathies. Good luck with the AFness!
Can we just take it as read I didn't mean to offend you?
  • Hello all, some good news stories around; not sure the wheelbarrow is good news but made me smile!
Another night for the SNC so 2 in total please bearacus and 12 for my AF total please Shaggy
Finding this week harder than previous ones and having to go to bed earlier to combat bells - mine start around 8ish. Get into cozy pjs early too as have told myself I don't drink in my pjs now - I certainly used to!
Isn't it funny how we all have different time zones for those bells!
    Getting there...slowly! :D

    GC : must do better
    NSD: very rare

No matter how slow I go I am lapping everyone on the couch.

 welcome caramelcaron glad you decided to join us, its a great board very supportive and good luck with your journey

Thanks Beckseven for your comments, i go to WW, have been a member for years but this year ive been really focussed and i think alot of its down to this board and reducing how much i drink. I definately get better results on the scales when i cut down my drinking. Good luck

13 Af please Shaggy and 2 for SNC please Bearacus. Thanks for the J20 recommendation, i will add it to this weeks shopping list

Welcome Caramelcaron, hope you're first night's been good. It's a lovely, smug feeling.

Quick post from me on the way to bed:

8AF for October please and 2 for the SNC.
  • Welcome caramelcaron-hope you find this board a great support to you. I really find that using it regularly helps me focus. Totting up the af days really brings it home to you how much you drink. Mackeroo-I lost my baby weight from my first ds with ww-thinking back I did really well as I was in a size eight when he was about 8 months old but have really struggled to get back into shape after my dd who will be three in January-still could do with losing a good ten pounds but am broke at the moment so can't afford to go back to meetings yet.

10afds for me please shaggy and 2 for the snc please bearacus.
