Another AF night to report - it's really quiet here as the children are back in school - feeling a bit sad actually, better go and do something to keep myself busy!
    Trying to keep in budget.

What are the triggers that lead to you drinking when you would rather not do?

Basically, just the 'Saturday evening feeling'. I cut out all weekday drinks and (almost) never drink Friday night any more - I used to drink on Weds evening and Friday evening too. :TBut when it comes to Saturday night, I just have no willpower, and end up with a hangover every Sunday, which is so counter-productive. I really enjoy sitting down with Mr Pricey and having a meal and wine, but find it so hard to stop once I start  I'm really going to make an effort this Saturday though. :)

Well done to all those who can successfully cut down without going overboard on the alcohol allowed days :T:T

Could you try a change of routine and/or surroundings on Saturday night to try and break the association with drinking?
e.g. a different restaurant where there is less of a drinking atmosphere, cooking a meal from scratch and eating a bit later in the evening etc.
I know some people who have managed to moderate by delaying having a drink until later in the evening using these sorts of distractions.
If you can plan to fill the 'danger' time with something you enjoy there will be less need to use will power in the to drink/not to drink debate in the mind.
Well done on the cutting down :T :T :T

Am on 10 Shaggy. Thanks for the great scoring, as ever.

Am also a cutter-downer, and on track for my target of 2/3rds of the year AF. I was in the pub for about 4 hours on Saturday night and only had 2 pints. Would doubtless have been trolleyed before I started keeping track of things here. Thanks everybody! Thinking I might stop counting for 2012, but perhaps that's asking for trouble.

I managed an AF Sunday :). OK, so I may not have been AF the rest of the week, but it's a start, and Sundays are usually spent in the pub. Instead Mum and my brother came for Sunday lunch (she's been a lot better this week), then we all had a little walk, then played a few games and did a jigsaw together. Nice this morning not to wake up hungover, and remember what I watched on tv last night. Even managed to put some dinner in the slow cooker before i left for work this morning.
