  • Hello everyone !

Sorry I've not been on for a few days. I've had a lot going on and just needed some time to myself.

A week ago I finally admitted I needed help and approached AA. Whilst my drinking isn't yet affecting my life to a huge extent, I know it WILL if I carry on as its escalating a lot. Figured I would need practical help to knock it on the head (and didn't particularly want to involve my GP).

Been doing ok so far. Its a struggle but I WILL do this. For my family, for Piglet...but mainly for ME.

So the diets gone awol:o as they advise you to eat and stay full. Plus, as we all know on here, the minute you stop drinking you start consuming all sorts of sugary stuff!:) But I figure I can only deal with one demon at a time.

Anyway...enough of the serious stuff. Hope everyone is ok? Will have a read back and catch up.

Good Luck to you Miss P with tackling your demons - you'll slay them I'm sure. AA has helped so many people to quit drinking that you know you're in good hands and if you keep going you'll get all the support you need (is RA here to comment??)

As a minor aside, if you're not drinking so much you'll also be saving a load of calories and the craving for sugary stuff will eventually subside as your metabolism gets back to a healthy normalness.
    Trying to keep in budget.

    Still AF here...

It has been helped by getting the flu (well, it may have just been a really bad cold - it feels to early in the year to get the flu!) and a weekend "back home" visiting family which was used for recuperation.

We picked loads of sloes over the weekend (it seems to be bumper year for them, I'm sure they have never been so abundant in previous years) and I was given some to bring home.

Although I like the idea I'm not entirely sure it'd be a good idea given what I'm trying to do here :o. Knowing my luck with things like this it will be undrinkable anyway! :rotfl:

Day 10 for me, thank you shaggy
