Hiya Shaggy, I remember you too well done on the good work and carrying on with your great pictures and encouragement!!! Think it must be a year since I last came onto the board, but that doesn't mean I've gone to rack and ruin... debts still decreasing, and I've just gone into my third year Mental Health Nursing ...but I am concerned at how much my drinking has crept up again. My fella drinks to much and after he moved back in at chrimbo I kind of blamed him for my levels going up, but about two months ago he started to work away and my drinking carried on on the same level - easily downing a bottle (sometimes two if it's not a school night) of wine, but this is a stupid way to live. It's a week since I had a drink and I do feel better... if somewhat bored at night time! been going to bed at eight! but waking up bright and early and hitting the gym before placement starts!!
So taking the stance that 'Your never a failure until you stop trying' please could you put me down for 20 AFD's in October please Shaggy xxx oh need to update that siggy :)

  • Hello everyone
Sorry to hear things so tough Rachel, it's very difficult for you at the moment, I know how hard it is when parent's are so poorly and you have children to support and help understand too. Hugs to you x

I have managed 4/8 AF days so far in October which is quite good considering a) I was away and hosts kept trying to make us drink copious amounts all the time b)even when I had a drink it was one smallish drink per night.

Will be signing up for the full monty for the SNC challenge please bearacus and please can you add my 4 for Oct so far please shaggy, thanks for scoring
    Getting there...slowly! :D

    GC : must do better
    NSD: very rare

No matter how slow I go I am lapping everyone on the couch.

You have my sympthay Reachel - I was in the same poisition as you , albeit my children were still quite little whem my mum was ill - it's so difficult to cope with the demands if everything whilst finding time and patience to be with your mum. I remember it as a horrible time and i used alcohol to cope quite a lot too.

I have just one more AF day to add to my total as I had a glass on Friday. I'm also going to count tonight as I am alone with the kids abd never drink in that case, so that's 7 for the month please shaggy.
    Trying to keep in budget.

:wave:lamarsi, so glad you decided to return.

rachel, you can witter all you like on here (it's never stopped the rest of us:rotfl:). If it helps, you go for it!! We're good listeners.

I haven't any more AF days to report as, being a cutter-down, I do drink at weekends. I am pleased with last night though as I just checked in the fridge (I was getting milk out, honest!;)) and I only had less than half a bottle. I remembered I'd stopped mid-evening cos it was making me sleepy but I assumed that was because I'd drunk most of the bottle. Knowing when to stop is progress for me, so I'm pleased.

I can't decide what to do about the SNC this week. We're out for meals twice so may decide to drive for one of them. I need to talk to DH. Put me down for 3 for the SNC please, Bearacus and I'll do my best.

    Hello
I've been horribly ill this last week, but am definitely on the mend now! I had the beast of all colds and then a stomach bug just to top it off. I haven't had a drink yet in October though and my weight is finally coming off a bit so every cloud and all that!
So, I'm on 9 days for October so far (won't be drinking tonight), I completed the SNC last week and will sign up again this week.
Taking DS out for some food shortly but I'll drive and have soda and lime.
    Annie
