Maman I know what you mean about enjoying mondays off the pop now. That is a major move for me, I used to dread my planned AF days :o i also agree its enjoyable for me to have a drink at the weekend. Sunday I did go a bit too far though so thick head made yesterday a lot easier. My next goal is to control my drinking days a wee bit more. Out for lunch today which will include a glass of wine but does not need to include a night full of drinking as well.

Well done legsand on your posh fizzy water :)

  • Morning everyone. I have really enjoyed reading the recent posts. So many wise words, so many feelings I can relate to.

Last night was my first night off and at home with my boyfriend. I had two small glasses of wine with dinner. Think he had two or three. There is a third of a bottle left instead of none. So if we want some later we can finish that rather than opening a new one (and finishing that one!). I'm not planning to drink tonight and am going to go out today to buy some nice soft drinks.

I think cutting down is definitely the realistic way to go. Ooh, I'm going to find out recommended limits and try to stick to that. It's a limit though, not a target!

    Have a good day everyone.

  • Morning all.

I went in several bars over the weekend & managed to stick to soft drinks the whole time. My friends did offer me drinks to begin with but were very understanding when i explained.

So upto yesterday 10 days in a row without a drink, & a total of 14 AFDs.

Hope everyone else is doing ok.

I find the odd hung-over feeling helps me remember why I don't want to drink every night any more ntc so you can find positives in most things;). We've just decided (unexpectedly) to go out for lunch and I'm toying with the idea of fizzy water. Hope I'll be back later with good news.
  • Well I've messed up the SNC, dad offered to take me and OH out for dinner last night to cheer us up, ended up having a couple of drinks but didn't have anything when I came home. Still, there's always today, and I'm still toying with the idea of not drinking until I go to a festival on 25th.

Struggling here a bit tonight, I am really out of the AF way of things after my boozy summer. I'm thinking of going to bed early to avoid the bells!
    Trying to keep in budget.
