Hello, yes please put me down for SNC 4 days this week.

Also, I will pledge 10 AF days for the rest of the August.

    Thanks
  • Morning everyone.

Forgot to say in my last post that I hope your stepdad responds to his treatment YM, it must be a tough time for you and your family. :grouphug:

Well we woke up this morning to find our van (transit, we're halfway through converting it to a camper) has been broken into for the second time in 2 months. :( Last time they just broke the window lock and jumped in and tried to steal it, but this time they smashed the window open as my OH had secured the lock. So there'll be a £90 excess to pay on getting the window fixed. It just seems to be one thing after another with money, all the more reason to pack up with the old vino.

    Hi,
My attitude to alcohol is out of control, I am unable to have just one or two glasses of wine from a bottle I drink the whole bottle.
I dont drink every day, but I do think about drinking everyday and would like to drink everyday.
I cant pin point when alcohol became such a large part of my life I have personel problems then we all do i am no different to anyone else.
So i have now wine in the fridge, no wine in the rack Today is day one of being alchol free.
I am crying while typing this not to sure if its because I have admitted I have a problem with alcohol or because Im not having anymore wine LOL.
    :)

Welcome :wave:legsand, and cheer up!! You've taken a big step and not buying any wine is the very best way to make yourself have AF days. I sympathise with how hard it is to just stop at a single glass. For ages and ages I either had full drinking days (whole bottle) or AF days, sort of all or nothing. I can now manage to go out for lunch, have a glass or two and not carry on later in the day but that's a recent thing. Don't be too hard on yourself. Think what you'd like to do (give up/cut down) and make today your first AF day! Good Luck!

Ha ha. If you can still laugh when you're at the bottom, that's a good thing! :) Even trying to make a start on fixing it is a step in the right direction. I have the same thing as you - whatever is in the house , I finish it. I stopped buying wine and switched to cider to cut down on the units I was taking in. Kind of pathetic 'solution', but there you go.

    good luck!:T

    Hello
Can I join the SNC please? Put me down for 4 this week.

All good here today, I feel ready to go again after my hols, got loads done at work and still feel awake and able to get on with stuff around the house this evening!

Legsand: I know exactly how you feel, look a few pages back and you'll see my first post. Good luck with cutting down / stopping altogether / whatever you decide.

AF for me last night, and tonight, and I feel great on it!

Hope you've all had a happy Monday xx

    Evening,
just to start by saying Thankyou I have read most of the posts today its really helped thankyou
I dont think at the moment cutting down will work for me i think I need to stop and then see how I go.
I am very territorial about my wine if anyone wants to share my bottle I dont like it. Even if we are out and i have to share I dont like it.
I dont think my family have any idea how all consuming alcohol can be.
Sorry guys no I have started its hard to stop.

    have a good evening
    :)
