    Evening,
had a really good day at work, so wanted to buy bottle of wine on way home.
made me think I thought I only drank when I had bad days, today made me understand that I drank on good days to.
Not drinking has already shown me its not bad, its not good days its all days.
Finding any reason to stop and buy alcohol. I do that, I stop, I buy, not the bad or the good day.

Well day 2 with no alcohol.
    Do I feel good,
No not yet but I think I will

You all have a good evening

    and thankyou

    xx

gien - a soft drink in a tall glass with ice and a slice works for me!! Try to keep busy and sing very, very loudly to drown out the bells :o....good luck and try not to give in, a couple of days under your belt and you'll be back into your AF routine x

You're doing just great legsand - don't worry, at the beginning of my journey it took me quite a few days (probably nearer a week) to start to feel physically/mentally any better...but once the change started to kick in I felt amazing and wondered how I ever managed to function effectively before....be kind to yourself and give it a little time...2 AFD's is a fantastic start and you're now 2 days closer to being a new you. xx

Oh you will legsland and before the health benefits you'll start to enjoy the smug feeling of achievement that comes the morning after!!:D

I'm very pleased with myself. Went out for lunch and had a lovely meal with a large glass of fizzy water! I was walking from the car to the restaurant telling myself (silently;)), you won't have a drink, you won't have a drink! And I'm delighted to say I managed. Don't blame you though after what happened to the van TWICE:eek: At least you stopped after your meal.

7AF for August please Shaggy and 2 for the SNC thanks Bearacus.

    Hi,
My attitude to alcohol is out of control, I am unable to have just one or two glasses of wine from a bottle I drink the whole bottle.
I dont drink every day, but I do think about drinking everyday and would like to drink everyday.
I cant pin point when alcohol became such a large part of my life I have personel problems then we all do i am no different to anyone else.
So i have now wine in the fridge, no wine in the rack Today is day one of being alchol free.
I am crying while typing this not to sure if its because I have admitted I have a problem with alcohol or because Im not having anymore wine LOL.
    :)

Hi Legsand! :) So sorry to hear that you're crying - I think that you are really brave. I'd been on MSE for MONTHS before I had the courage to wander this way.

Everyone here is lovely and really supportive. I'm struggling too. This is my second week. But for the fact that now I've only got £12 to last me for the rest of the month, I might have done something daft... (how DO those garages keep their petrol prices SO reasonable?!)!

Please don't beat yourself up though - you have been really brave to take the step of posting on here. It's true that every single person in the world has problems - but NOT every single person in the world deals with their issues in the same way. You're smart enough to realise that you need to put the skids on a bit, and you've come to a good place. Have you got a good GP you could confide in? Maybe he/she could offer some advice?

Big hugs to you - and lots of luck as well. :) xxx

  • Failed again. :( Went to the pub after work for a friend's birthday, was only going to drink lemonade but thought "sod it, I'm not up early in the morning". Ended up drinking 3 pints and I'm feeling it this morning, my tolerance must have dropped.

Feeling quite disappointed in myself. :(

On the plus side the van is fixed now, and we've found somewhere to park it where it will be safe.
