Hopefully you've now got a second AF day to notch up! It is really, really hard to start with. I distinctly remember pacing about because I couldn't settle to anything or think of anything other than having a drink. A good distraction to go out for a walk (sorry to hear about nose-bleed though). Distraction techiques are really helpful to get you out of the habit. I found going to a dance class on a Monday was an excellent start to the week. The 'special' soft drink is another or having a relaxing bath or changing into jimjams early so you can't cave in and go to the shop. Hopefully as you have no spare money that will help you a bit Ruth.
Well done to everyone who's been AF tonight. And that includes me!
4AF please Shaggy and 1 for this week's SNC thanks Bearacus.
Thanks Maman! I love the jimjams idea - I think I might do that! I saw Ricky Gervais live a couple of years ago (birthday pres. from my bro. and sis-in-law) and he was saying that he's often in his pyjamas by about 6pm!
Thanks Miss P for the Ebay idea - I used to sell quite a lot on there, but not done much recently. I don't have much that's worth anything, but I do have some old Dr. Who stuff which might fetch a few quid... I used to do really well most weeks in a local pub quiz which had a cash prize, but they stopped doing it.
Had a good walk with Jazz - it was footie practice night in the park, so lots of hunky blokes to look at! Jasper had a good run around, a swim in the river and a good sniff of some other dogs on the way back to the car - and no nosebleed, yayy!!He was quite funny, actually. As I stopped the car outside our house I could see Jasper, on the passenger seat beside me, limbering up to do his "I'm old and ill and you'd better give me loads of biscuits quick before I die" act. He hopped out, only to catch a glimpse of his nemesis, Honey the cat from opposite, ambling along the pavement. He tore after her at top speed, barking a foul mixture of doggy-profanity. Then he went off after Oliver, a cat belonging to another neighbour that had peeped out to laugh at Honey. Jasper came storming back, suddenly noticed that I could see him, and tried to look frail again after a brief moment of panic. I WISH I could have photographed the look on his face, it was hilarious!
Cheered me up no end, as I had been feeling a bit low this evening.
Jasper isn't quite as jolly though...!
Keep smiling!

Evening all, Bearacus, fingers crossed for your Mum and Miss P so sorry to hear about your dismal day. At least you didn't kick the offending car and hurt your foot before your holiday too!
I've managed another one today so that's 2/13 for me and another one for the SNC. I had a bit of trouble with the bells earlier but managed to resist them while cooking dinner. I had a bad couple of nights sleep so I'm hoping for a better one tonight after two days off the booze. Sleep well everyone.0 -
bearacus - I'm please things aren't as bad as they could've been for your mum
Hopefully the treatment won't be too harsh on her.
Sorry to hear you've had a rough day Miss P
RnJ - that story about Jasper made me chucklelooks like he knows how to play you!
Well I've had an interesting night at work. I work at Mr. S on the online delivery, ended up having to call the police as we accidently delivered to the wrong address and the people there accepted it! When the driver went back when he realised he had made a mistake, they ducked down from behind the window and refused to answer the door. Ended up ringing the police and apparently it is technically theft as they knew it wasn't theres, so I handed over their address. I expect they'll be getting a knock on the door very soon.
DAY 3 AF for me today, and 2 for the SNC too. :j0 -
Evening All
AF tonight so that puts me on 7 AFD's please shaggy and 2 for the SNC please bearacus.
bearacus - glad to hear that Mum's first chemo session has gone well...it must be a relief to know that the treatment is underway, I look forward to hearing that she's in remission very soon x
Miss P - such bad luck with the car, fingers crossed that it will be a quick and inexpensive fix.

That's an incredible story fpt, the cheek of some people!
Sorry to hear about your car MissP, hopefully the bill won't be too horrendous. Think positive about your holiday!!!
You're sounding really upbeat Ruth, and I loved your Jasper story. Crafty!!
AF here tonight, relatively easy too. I'm out at a friend's for lunch tomorrow so I'll have a couple of glasses then visitors here on Thursday so not a good week AF wise. I'll play catch-up next week.
5AF please Shaggy and 2 for the SNC thanks Bearacus.0 -

The Whiskered Wonder has got me exactly where he wants me. Wrapped around his little dewclaw. I wouldn't be in the least bit surprised if he was actually a weasel wearing a dog costume he'd bought off t'internet...;)
Keep us posted on the delivery thing - I bet the "evidence" is being hidden and gorged-on even as we speak!
Thanks again for the encouragement everyone. This is my 3rd AFD (actually, technically, my 4th, since it's after midnight) and I'm starting to go nuts... Off to the doctors tomorrow after work. Lovely.
Sleep well everyone, sweet dreams.

Hello :wave:DFW Nerd no. 496 - Proud to be dealing with my debts!!0

Morning Jo, :jcome on in, it's good to see you here again!
Sleep still rather broken last night, hopefully tonight will be better as it's Day 3 of AF ness.
I plan to keep busy this evening to stop the bells and will try and go to fat club after work and then get dinner on straight after that too. I will then be a busy busy Bee afterwards with festival packing - we're camping this weekend  so I can pack, tidy my room and do a sun dance to keep the rain away. Have a good day everyone.
Maman, enjoy your lunch; you deserve it. FPT can't believe they accepted it - my neighbours have taken mine in (much to my embarrassment) but didn't hide behind the sofa when I called for it.
GOOD LUCK at the doctor tonight RnJ and you're doing really well with the AF mission - well done!0 -
Morning everyone
8 Af please Shaggy and 2 for the SNC please Bearacus
Really hope the car situation isnt as bad as you expect MissP and that you manage to get offski on your well deserved hols. Glad your mum responded well to first chemo session Bearacus, she will appreciate all your postitivity at the moment.
Im off to see the Doc this morning at 8am still got this cold 7 weeks later and it aint shifting, i feel a bit of a fraud going to the Doc about a cold but my DH and work colleagues cant stand me constantly sniffing, coughing and walking about looking like Rudolph all the time so i will go and see what he says.
We've arranged a huge BBQ today at work for the families we work with and typically the heavens have opened and the forecast isnt looking good for the remainder of the day, so i will need to go and dig out my wellies and raincoat
nice to see you back Jo hope you well x
Have a good Wed everyone

Good morning all!
AnnieG - so sorry, forgot to wish you a Happy Birthday yesterday!!
FPT - Oh, I wouldn't like to be the people in that house when the police go knocking! I work for a courier company and sometimes our drivers deliver to incorrect addresses etc, and its always a devil getting the parcels back! Usually mention of the police does the trick though.:D
WBF - sounds like your plans and mine are the same today. Lots of washing, ironing and packing for me today. Will keep my fingers crossed weather stays good for your camping the weekend.
RuthnJ - hope the doctors trip goes ok.
Thanks all for your comments re the car. We will hear from the garage today. I'm feeling a little more positive today. We've worked out a plan of robbing peter to pay Paul so at least we can get it fixed (as long as it IS fixable) but we will be severely brassic next month.:( Will cross that bridge when we come to it.:o
Miss P
